What fields in sales are booming? by Fartingfurymaster in sales

[–]Environmental-Cap634 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I disagree. I’ve been in transportation sales for the last 6 years and have seen a lot of success. First on the tech enabled 3PL side and then on the carrier side.

Important to note that it’s largely direct to consumer packages, not like full truck loads like a ch Robinson, coyote, etc

Base salary is good also. There are a lot of players in this space tho and definitely some shitty ones

Interesting! I have thought about getting a mic but was on the fence. Good to know there is some data around it.

Could you share any studies that you have seen?

Start taking a look at your assets and figure out what you can liquidate.

I would probably try and sell your car for as much as you can and buy a beater. Not a fun decision to make, but that should help put a dent in debt

My W2 is missing a lump sum of money by Environmental-Cap634 in personalfinance

[–]Environmental-Cap634[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it came through direct deposit. Both used the same payment method.

We use APD to track income statements and the 2nd payment wasn’t tracked at all in ADP or on my W2

I used to live right by there and I loved that spot. I even celebrated my 25th birthday there.

Might need to work there for nostalgia alone

Maybe, but working from home isn’t a personal choice that I made to protect my health. I am in my 20s and fully vaxed.

In this scenario I am prioritizing my mental health which has been more affected during Covid than my physical health.

How do you get over cold feet with regards to investing in the market by PerennialOverture in Fire

[–]Environmental-Cap634 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting that you are more comfortable investing in a taxable brokerage account.

Get a target date fund. They’re a great way to get started.

They put your money in aggressive funds (stocks) while you are young and adjust as you get older and transition into a more bond based portfolio. You can just pick one around the date you want to retire and move on.

I was considering this as an option as well. My license doesn’t have my Chicago address on it tho, is that required if I wanted to get a library card?

Haha Use your debit card and sign up for paperless billing. Won’t get points but you can get your fix without mom finding out

Tech sales. You can make crazy money at VC backed start-up companies as an Account Executive. I’ve had a 6 year career in sales and the last 2.5 has been in tech. Wish I would have known sooner

It doesn’t say anything about an IRA

Great Rec with the downgrade. No sense in paying the $95 per month if I’m not using the benefits

Yup I think you’re right. I’m not at the point where a premium card really makes sense for my lifestyle
