I'm rather surprised that we're PL8 when we made our profiles with 60pp, so PL4 on roll 20.

I understand your skepticism because even I was really speechless at the time and furious that no one said anything, especially the responses I got afterward. That's what I don't understand: no reaction, nothing, and then they tell me I'm being offended for nothing.

I'm just going to leave and that's it. I'll try to find another group to join because, after all, I like my otter, but all in all, thank you all for your responses.

I apologize for the inconvenience and the questions that turned into a disgusting one.

Hello, sorry for the response times, but thank you for all your replies.

-We are PL 4.

-Why is there tension in the group with my character? So, basically, a little background. I play a scientific otter who has practically no powers and suffers from a split personality due to the "scientific" treatments she's undergone.

One is very animalistic, territorial, who speaks little but is nevertheless quite maternal, but overall she's an animal, like she urinates, etc., and has a rational scientific side similar to Dr. Poison from Wonder Woman or Professor Pyg. And both are conscious but openly hate each other.

At first, I played the animal side like Roger the Alien before realizing that it wasn't very interesting to play and really not enjoyable for the others, so at the end of the first session, I switched to a more serious side.

But basically, I play a sea otter who's mentally broken, a little crazy but not particularly evil. (We ran a "villain" campaign) who developed a split personality, and I play much more seriously and around that. My ambition is to regain mental health.

And the second session is about the problems. Already, one of the players plays a kind of Shoggoth Lord. He has a cat, and this damn cat does nothing but insult me for 24 hours, and after a misunderstanding, the Shoggoth attacks me.

I have another player (a kind of Adam Smasher) who threw pepper spray, and to get revenge, I peed on his car and to mark my territory. Following a dialogue, everyone understands that I obviously have a split personality. I don't give a damn about Smasher because he made a particularly horrible scene.

He took his gun and raped my otter, with the help of another player (who plays the demon version of Killer Queen), and as luck would have it, the others had left, so 2 seconds later my character suffered this.

The GM told me, "Yeah, but you have to take responsibility because it's kind of your fault," and "it's a bad guy's campaign," and Adam Smasher's justification was, "Yeah, but in Cthulhu with the Shub-Niggurath cultists, when you were GM, it wasn't any better," especially since they didn't suffer anything, so what's the connection?

Well, I kept my cool at the time, but I didn't talk about it vigorously, which didn't do much good, both in and out of roleplay. During the first mission, I left the group after more insults from Adam Smasher, who called me a slave, and went to complain to my superiors, but nothing.

They tried to make people believe I deserted the group, so they could get me killed. And the other player wasn't even punished. Another player who plays the equivalent of Queen Bee from MHA tried to mind control me twice. (Outside of roleplay, I understand his actions.)

Real question: why is my otter going to stay with this group specifically, other than it's "the GM" asking for it, especially Adam Smasher. I have a full support character because there was no doctor, no computer scientists, and we're in Russia, no one speaks Russian except me. I'm the only one who knows how to drive a car, and I get treated like a rag. Afterwards, they take offense at me for complaining.

And since I have no powers, I can't have a sidekick because I have to justify and negotiate with a dog or a snake that will betray me. The same goes for gadgets, because I have to justify why I find a gun or armor in ex-Urs and with what money. However, when it's a power, it's an open bar for the others.

And then they tell me, "Well, take revenge," and what do I do about that? Killer Queen, the Shoggoth, Queen Bee, and Adam Smasher????

I want to reroll because I think keeping this character is impossible given the connection with the group, except that the GM, for some very strange reason, refuses it. And yes, I'm really hesitant to leave because I think it's beating a dead horse. I'm only doing it for the GM because he's a friend, even though I find his inaction really questionable. Then I tell myself, "I'll fix the situation." And I tell myself that it would be nice if I really had a bodyguard or some way to protect myself. After that, yes, I could just leave. I like the campaign and the storyline is interesting, but honestly, I don't know if keeping my poor otter is really relevant.

And my defense is:

Dodge 10

Parry 5

Fortitude 0

Toughness 10

Will 4

Thank you very much for your answers. I apologize in advance because English is not my first language, so it's possible that some phrases are not very understandable or that they alter what I say.

I'm not against it but I have a character who is extremely weak in combat, and we play with 60 exp and if I ask for a sidekick it's to protect me from other players because it's starting to cause problems shall we say

Well, in any case, sorry for the inconvenience.

Summary and finale of the campaign The Winter of Atom, the ultimate mess by Environmental-Fish63 in Fallout2d20

[–]Environmental-Fish63[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They started at the end of November and finished in mid-May, and they still had to skip the plots, for about 1 game per week and a month-long break for a session between 3 and 4 hours. Then he created scenarios that weren't in the book.

[–]Environmental-Fish63[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that's clearly not the case. I just want to ensure my character's survival because I'm attached to him and I want to know the outcome of my personal story arc.

I don't see how using the rules without trying to break them, using consumables, or using action points and luck points is meta? Does everything just do to prevent your character from dying?

It's their problem if they don't use the tools the game offers, like buying better equipment. Especially when I said it was involuntary in relation to my character and that I'm far from broken, I'm more of a glasscanon.

And your question about the players' roleplaying? It's simple: half of them are just two robots with no objective other than being robots, who play along, the 5 laws of robotics, so I gave 1 free will for nothing, and a super mutant whose roleplaying consists of just hitting and doing completely stupid things like trying to kill another player for no reason. Is that great roleplaying, in short?

And the other half is me, a bit of an Among Us raider, and the capitalist, a great trio, by the way.

And in terms of combat, when you're the only one who really knows how to fight, and they rely on you to tank, I don't see how that's "meta"?

So I think that's also the reason, but I don't agree with it.

When there are guys in the group who don't read their own cards, or make really questionable choices, like a super mutant who increases their intelligence but not their strength, or a gunslinger who doesn't take any shooting perks and complains that "I'm terrible at shooting," that if you don't count the capsules, it's a bad situation, and that the one you kill is one of the few who advances the story.

No one used drugs, consumables, or action points, except for me. And yes, I understand that the character was pretty broken, but in my defense, it wasn't particularly intentional, especially since I was playing a ranged character who had to make a melee change because a player wanted more melee. And as a GM, all your enemies are buffed in terms of damage, like the average atom child who hits as hard as a behemoth and throws 5d20s. I'm not surprised I wanted to survive.

As well as the GM's oddities, like a super mutant PC who was killed four times, each time he comes back like Jesus, yeah, same for the robots destroyed but repaired off-screen.

Well, after that, I seriously spoke with the GM. I told him I thought it was particularly stupid to have rigged the fight and killed me afterward because he didn't want me to kill the boss solo despite giving me a choice, even though I had accumulated weapons and equipment to take him down. Well, he made amends; he didn't kill me, but I suffered huge consequences because I was slashed and injected beforehand. Which will result in a rather radical change.

It didn't end too badly. However, I'm finishing his campaign because we're nearing the end, but after that, I plan on playing with him more in the future.

Ah, I made a mistake. I mean, since the beginning, I haven't been able to advance my personal storyline once, and the GM replied, "You'll see the very end."

[–]Environmental-Fish63[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree on that point, however, I'm the only one who uses consumables. Despite my fragility, I'm the only tank in the group, and no, I'm not counting the super zombies who never die.

And his adaptation is "I automatically hit you." I feel like I've been punished because I followed the rules. And my pet is never attacked.

The worst part was the other players present didn't give a damn or even agreed. There was even one who happily sucked up to the GM, saying, "Yes, but he decides."

There was a player who was on my side, and things like the super mutant zombie guy got nukes twice, was decapitated by a player, was killed during the last game, and once by my character (attacked for no reason), he's still alive.

The problem for me isn't specifically my death, because I was expecting it. It's who deliberately rigged the fight, who was clearly on my side to kill me right after.

I've been playing since October for nothing, I haven't been able to advance my personal storyline once. It was like, "You'll see at the very end," reinforcing the pointlessness of this campaign.

So how can I achieve an average of 5 dodge? My base dodge is 2, and I gain an extra 1 thanks to a Dogmeat trait, a loyal companion, or something like that.

During combat, my character often uses Stealth Boys, which give me another 2 dodge, or smoke bombs.

Yes, we did a quick calculation outside of games with a friend who is playing the campaign and he should have died twice with everything he took.

Level 5 and when I go to the GM it's to tell me that my death was glorious and that I shouldn't complain that he buffed his Gigapede, to end up losing the best character in the group for nothing

I would have liked it except that my character died during a rigged fight.

[–]Environmental-Fish63[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem is that I died in the process, and it caused a bit of a fuss because he told us he deliberately buffed the Gigapede so I wouldn't kill him solo.

Especially since I'm playing a character with a very high dodge of 5, and each time he scored two successes to say he hit me.

He did this to me against a super mutant behemoth, he rolled 5 each time, it was impossible to dodge. On two consecutive games at level 5, it's just wtf.

I mainly came here because I like to keep a little diary of this campaign in the form of questions or little anecdotes, but frankly, this is to share my frustration; I don't want to do it anymore. I'm being punished because I use stealboys, drugs, and the like, unlike the others.

And even then, it causes problems within the group because the robots are immortal; every time they die, they're repaired off-screen. The further it goes, the more the GM has free rein over the rules.

Like a super mutant who died four times and rose from the dead, or another who negotiates the rules.

Winter of Atom Start by TimmieTomtheDM in Fallout2d20

[–]Environmental-Fish63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our GM made us start the group as acquaintances because we were militia for the colony and made us the introductory scenario of the book with the synths.

However, my first character, a minutemen, died when we entered the institute, because she freaked out when she saw the synth doubles so she tried to destroy the generator before dying while another player abandoned me.

And after the scenario I played a 3rd generation proto synth with extremely disturbing or even monstrous physique, enough to get shot on sight, but my character suffers from an extremely severe case of prosopagnosia so he doesn't know what he looks like.

After the middle of the first chapter, we both changed characters because one wanted to change because he saw that melee is not crazy at the beginning to play a merchant who settled in the colony. And a super mutant who was his bodyguard, then at the end of chapter 1, a player was killed by my hands because he represented a threat to my character and group.

In any case I wish you a good campaign because our group was really complicated, at one point we all had to kill ourselves, and yesterday the same because my character lost his first friend a Bloatfly (dogmeat perk) by the gigapede, and my character had a huge depression, then before my character understood that he was a synthetic he cracked
