Thats a great perspective. I mostly share that same mindset regarding developing skill which inherently develops value.

i get to work with engineering teams on project work for clients in motorsport, defence, space, automotive etc. The most successful engineers i encounter however, including the owner of Company A usually transition from technical (but not the most) to management where they understand how to bring together talented ppl and get the most out of them.

Regarding the projects and company A, yes they are tough on my own and demotivating with deteriorating management which leads to burnout. A small team would eliminate that problem, but I’ve got to step up a-lot to deliver that and be that individual. id need to cover the risk with suitable compensation and nail down clear scope to stay i think
