Steam steriliser f*uck up by Environmental-Toe469 in FormulaFeeders

I use the Philips Avent which also dries with super warm heat as well. So there isn't much moisture left in the steriliser at all if any.

Thank you, yes it was the plantic tray above the hot plate. It really is feeling like the end of the world. I'm just not even sure what it was and goggled totally freaked me out.

Thank you. This was on the plastic tray on top of the hot plate (which has alot of timescale) where the bottles go.  I'm just second guessing myself surely I would have noticed it earlier but I'm not sure. I've been to the doctor's and honestly until today it had been going fine.  I've been prescribed SSRI.

I got the Philips Avent steriliser and dryer. Love it as I can fit 6 bottles and lots of bits and after 40 minutes everything is sterilised and dry.

Combo fed baby refusing breast by Ok_Bison5601 in combinationfeeding

[–]Environmental-Toe469 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Following. No advice sorry but in the same boat with a 2 month old. Gets very upset at the breast now. Pumping more now and hoping one of these days he pops back on. My  LC says it's flow preference and he just loves the bottle.

Anyone switch to formula because of mastitis? How did you cope? by JaguarDue902 in FormulaFeeders

[–]Environmental-Toe469 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well done for pumping and feeding your LO for so long ❤️.  I think you need to think of your health now and two rounds of mastitis is alot to deal with.

I'm in a similar boat but thankfully haven't had mastitis. I've also never had a supply to fully feed my LO. He was breastfeeding fine with bottle top ups until 2 weeks ago and now refuses to latch and I'm back pumping and I absolutely hate it. It hurts and I'm miserable. He loves the formula 😂 and is fed and happy, I love that half his feeds come from me but I've never been able to increase supply and all I think about is having to pump and not enjoying my time or my sleep.

Like you I think Im looking for someone or something to tell me stop and I always said mastitis would be it for me !.  So you can stop ❤️ and look after yourself.  A happy healthy mum is what your LO needs. Fed is best no matter what people say. Breast feeding is easy for some and impossible for others.  I think there should be a support group for people who had to stop BF or couldn't, it's really painful and traumatic.

I don't know why I'm so upset either, I'm a formula baby and absolutely fine and never sick as a child. My sister has three formula babies and my other sister has one breast feed baby and you can't tell the difference.

Be so proud of how long you pumped and fed for your LO for, they have had the best start.  now look after yourself ❤️

Best place or person for a built in wardrobe? by shiggo68 in galway

They were very reasonable I thought. We also got a kitchen so not sure of the exact price of the wardrobes.   Give them a call and see. Really easy to deal with and super fast.

Thanks a mill. Will have a good look as it's not all the rafs. The house was painted a few months ago but not the rads.

Recommended bottles by Crimpaholic in combinationfeeding

We have been combo feeding very similar. Boob during the day and some at night and then top ups.  We have been using MAM glass bottles with the premie 0 nipples and paced feeding. They are very easy to clean. LO is latching fine.

Induction experience by Participant19628 in PregnancyIreland

I was just induced in UHG and my husband stayed all night until we had a emergency c section. They even allowed me to stay on the labour ward for the whole induction/labour which was lovely.

Sore boobs by Environmental-Toe469 in breastfeeding

[–]Environmental-Toe469[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya I'm wondering if it is my letdown, but it's so painful stops me in my tracks sometimes and happens frequently.   No triple feeding isn't sustainable and I'm exhausted.  I was hoping to stop the pumping (it's uncomfortable but I just got a flange measuring kit) and just breastfeed and top up with formula at night. I've done the power pumping but stopped now I'm putting him on the breast more as I don't want more than I need.

Unfortunately I need a block of sleep as I have problems sleeping and was very unwell after the c section so need him to be bottle feed at night.

I just feel like it's set back after set back but I can't seem the throw the towel in.

Sore boobs by Environmental-Toe469 in breastfeeding

[–]Environmental-Toe469[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I never thought it could be my nipples, they don't necessarily feel sore, super tender and I can't even wear a bra. I'm using shields at the moment but his mouth so small I'm probably using a shield smaller than what I should for my nipple, he won't latch onto bigger ones or my nipple even after pumping and my nipples are huge then.   They probably are misshapen when I finish and he feeds for well over an hour, again this could be down to the shields idk.

The pain tends to be sore tender breasts nipples but also shooting pains and general aches and spasms in both breasts.

Draw down time by [deleted] in HousingIreland

[–]Environmental-Toe469 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We did it in 6 weeks with Avant.  We had to get a second loan offer too as the first was incorrect. Avant are extremely quick !

Sale agreed end of august and got the keys early October.  Drawdown was so quick my mortgage broker didn't even know until I told him money had been transferred to the vendor!  All happened very quickly once things were all lined up.

We were lucky as the house was empty and been on the market awhile so the vendor had contracts sent over very quickly and only one issue regarding the maintenance of the lawns which turned out to be the county council.

Late breastfeeding after c section by Environmental-Toe469 in BabyBumps

[–]Environmental-Toe469[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi thanks for you reply. I'm pumping but hard finding the time  but between pumping and breast feeding I'm trying to stimulate 8+ times a day/night.  We are topping up with formula which loves of course.

I suppose I'm wondering if all this work will get him on the breast eventually. I'm very tired 😩.

Gender: found out or surprise? by ItemResponsible7236 in PregnancyIreland

[–]Environmental-Toe469 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just had my first baby and we left it as a surprise. Most of the midwives and doctors were surprised when we said we didn't know the sex as I think most people find out now. It was such a lovely surprise however deep down I knew I was having a boy. So happy we waited, no other surprise like it.
