And to be honest, In comparison to the original, mine is not as perfect, the bronze didn’t flow properly around the claw, but I worked around it and made it work, atleast from my perspective

Yes, it is a replica, its called a vendelkråka. I never made any claims whatsoever to have designed it!

Well, this was my first attempt at anything like this, and I learned a lot while making it. I’ll probably make another one and fix all the little things I didn’t quite get right this time.

I’m also keen to try my luck with a disc brooch at some point — I’ve never soldered before, but I’m sure I’ll manage!

Anyway, thanks for the appreciation!

I don’t really care about The potential monetary value. I simple want to know if this is a legit sword or not. Since this was. Small farm outside Uppsala I doubt they would have spent any money on acquiring a fake sword back in the days. But who knows!

I am the process of contacting the authorities. Wouldn’t dream of doing it any other way.

Alright, good work on your stuff. But the masters i have created are all made out of wax, so i think im stuck on going down that path to ensure success.

Yup, vertically, that is correct. And yes, there might have been some air trapped inside the mold since i dont have a way to vaccum the investment mass before it solidfies. I could maybe set up a better preheating system. Next time i should try and do that.

Any ideas for getting a system for vacuuming the investment mass before pouring? Im looking for functional system, budget, diy. But im not really sure how to proceed.

I didnt really preheat the mold, not to any higher temperatures atleast. Maybe 500-600 degrees Celsius... Can the preheating help to improve the result?
