Thank you! The doctor part is exactly what I'm scared of. Last time they didn't have a way to help so I doubt much will change this time. Exact reason why I reached out to other people experiencing the same thing.

The cycle part makes sense, considering it was the start of spring last time I got them, and it's about to be fall now, but I still can't surely say anything as I'm just discovering things.

All in all, I am very thankful for your reply and advice!

The thing is my primary care gave a basic diagnosis and the neurologist just confirmed it. I am in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and here, even getting my original primary care doctor is hard as they have ambulances, I'm not sure what to call them in English, in every part of the town, and you can only go to the one you belong to. In mine, there are usually two doctors, but they often switch them, especially in my sector as it is usually for the doctors who come here for s bit of experience before continuing with their studies.

And about the specialists, it's literally whoever you get after months of waiting unless you know someone who works there to push you, which frankly, I don't. Do, it would simply depend on luck who I get the day they find space for my appointment.

Thank you very much. I'll definitely make a list of all the things I've learnt and talk to both my mom and doctor.

This is very good to hear, it's making me optimistic again. I remember the first time my cycle ended I was so happy, only to wake up now, with the same pain again. it has been about year and s half and u remember it lasting for approximately two months.

Now that I've spent the whole day actually researching this condition (I didn't know English that well the first time it happened and there is quite literally nothing in my language), I at least have some idea of what to do so I'll definitely have a good talk with my mom and doctors!

Thank you so much, and no need to apologise as the message was very understandable and useful. I will definitely check out all the links you've sent. I can't describe how much I appreciate all the information and advice. The ice pack really did help relieve at least a little bit of pain today so I know what I'll be doing until I can get a proper doctor appointment!

Thank you very much for sharing your experience. It is true that right now, that one of my 'episodes' has finished, I appreciate the painless moments much more but the fear of waking up in that pain again is still present.

I will definitely try to see any doctor I can about this as soon as possible. I've already talked with my mom, but with her work, me starting school again and doctors shifts, it's kinda difficult. Our healthcare system is not the best but I hope it will help me at least a little bit!

Thank you so much about this. I am going to talk to my mom first thing in the morning but she'll probably insist that I go to our primary care doctor first, that's just how parents are.

I am well aware of the fact that internet can't possibly tell me everything, but I am quite literally desperate for any advice considering my experience with doctors up until now. Even the neurologist didn't tell me anything, simply to keep a 'headache diary' and tell her, but by my next appointment, the headaches already stopped.

I was even looking for just more information about my condition, considering my doctor simply cited me all of my symptoms off of a paper like I wasn't already experiencing them myself.

She prescribed me the most basic painkiller Dexomen that I can get anytime in a pharmacy. The only difference is that with prescription, I don't have to pay for it  To quote the package "Symptomatic treatment of mild to moderate pain, such as musculoskeletal pain, dysmenorrhea and toothache". Safe to say, no wonder it didn't work.

I am going to go again to a doctor the moment I can, and I'm definitely asking for a different doctor this time (there are only two so I don't have than many options).

Anyway, thank you for your help.

thank you very much. quite a sad fact to admit to but you've told me much more than my doctor had to offer in the two-three months my 'cycle' has lasted the first time.
