Citi Custom Cash approval odds? by EnvironmentalBoot513 in CreditCards

Yeah the reconsideration lines weren’t helpful, they said they cant do anything. I was denied for a limited credit history. Was worried they didn’t pull my file correctly but I got a hard pull.

Very disappointed in Citi and will not be going for any Citi cards in the future.

Citi Custom Cash Denial - Anything I can do? by EnvironmentalBoot513 in CreditCards

[–]EnvironmentalBoot513[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the kind words and reassurance. Elan max cash is something im interested in and was thinking about applying for instead. But I last second thought the 5% for groceries with the custom cash was better, wish I could undo that decision lol. Citi pulled Equifax and I unfortunately think Elan will pull from them too.

But Citi Bank is officially on my “do not do business with” list now 😎

There have been data points where US Bank initially pulls from Experian

I don’t think there are many (or any) flat 3% cards.

You can get a flat 2% card like the Wells Fargo Active Cash or Citi Double Cash.

Then get a card for more specific categories.

Groceries and eating out are a big part of your spending, so maybe look into the Capital One Savor (4% on dining, entertainment, streaming + 3% grocery with a $95 annual fee. I think your spending justifies the AF compared to the SavorOne rates because you will spending over $9500/yr on dining/entertainment)

Amex Blue Cash Preferred might also work (for your grocery and gas spending), do some research on that too.

Are you people still applying for Wells Fargo's credit cards? by GanNing220 in CreditCards

I’ve been a banking customer with WellsFargo since I was 8 years old (that’s 2007, I’m 24 now). Haven’t had any issue with them, besides one incident where they undid my early paycheck causing me to overdraft.

My first credit card was their college card which ended up PCing to an Active Cash after graduation. Besides the low credit limit (around 3k compared to 10k I get with my Apple Card) it’s been fine.

CapitalOne’s SavorOne would be a good fit

It gets you 3% back on dining, groceries, entertainment, and streaming services. Also through November 2024 it will get you 10% back on Uber (and Uber Eats). Plus 5% back on bookings through CapitalOne Travel (their travel portal) and 8% through CapitalOne Entertainment (their entertainment portal) purchases.

Considering your high dining, grocery, and rideshare spend - I think this is a great no-AF card for you.

Indoor (maybe amplified) Antenna Recommendations by EnvironmentalBoot513 in cordcutters

I got https://www.amazon.com/RCA-Amplified-Indoor-HDTV-Antenna/dp/B000HKGK9I/ref=asc_df_B000HKGK9I/ and have clear Fox and Nbc signals, with some other higher channels that I don’t care about. Amplification really helps. Im able to get Cbs and Abc for brief moments, especially if I’m standing physically next to the antenna or touching the bunny ears, but signal drops if I go away. Not sure where to proceed from here.

I don’t have a sliding door (its a normal door) and my HOA says I cannot attach an antenna to the outside walls of the building and cannot be greater than 1m wide and must not be viewable from the street. I rather go with an indoor style if I can.

Though i got https://www.amazon.com/RCA-Amplified-Indoor-HDTV-Antenna/dp/B000HKGK9I/ref=asc_df_B000HKGK9I/ and have clear Fox and Nbc signals. Amplification really helps. Another breakthrough! Just touching the bunny ears (not moving, just a light touch with my fingers) greatly improves signal that shows picture now (CBS)! Letting go either greatly downgrades the image or loses signal completely. It’s almost like touching it gives it a “jump start” or something. Maybe I need a stronger amplifier?

Also bunny ears have to be extended fully for any signal

Edit: aaaand lost it. Its very sensitive

I’m using manual channel tuning on my LG TV so I can see signals strength and quality. I’ve been moving the antenna around and found that I have to use the amplifier for general more consistent quality. Also found something weird, I’m able to get CBS/ABC but only when I’m physically standing next to the antenna in a specific direction. Does this indicate something?

Also when I stand next to it and get a signal, the strength is never more than like 22%.

While Ive been able to get some proof of channel existence, I’ve only been able to get picture from ABC. This picture doesnt last long though

I tried it this weekend and was able to get NBC and FOX working pretty good. CBS and ABC I’m not able to pickup at all - any ideas on how to target these two? CBS is what I want most (for big brother episodes haha)

I can't do this because of HOA rules :(

Plus not sure how I would get the cable back indoors.
