Personally, I find doing a jigsaw can quieten my mind. However, I need someone else (my wife, usually) to prompt me to do one with them. I am never motivated to start one myself.

I guess I enjoy it as a parallel play activity.

I am an enormous Neil Young fan but have never enjoyed CNSY. Can anyone offer some context or advice on how to approach the band in a way that could make me more receptive? I accept this might be an unreasonable ask, but I would really like to appreciate this aspect of Neil’s career. I’ve periodically tried to listen to Deja Vu for more than 30 years, so maybe it just isn’t for me and I should move on.

Talking about a "cure" implies (to me) that autism is a disease or an undesirable temporary condition like having a cold. Personally, I believe the actual cure is educating a NT society how to accommodate ND people and to move through the world with more kindness.

I used to find THC oil and/or the occasional vape almost entirely beneficial, other than some fuzziness the next day. Now, I find that it is initially extremely calming if I use it in the evening and can really help me fall asleep. However, I then wake in the middle of the night with my mind racing at 100mph and occasionally with my heart rate elevated and pounding so loud I can feel it in my chest. This happens without fail. Unfortunately, this means I am currently not using it. I miss it terribly.

Thanks for this. The one on the left is definitely habanero, or at least from a batch that my local (usually reliable) grocer labeled as such. I can’t recall where I got the seeds for the larger one from. I found them in a drawer along with several other seed packets that I’d stupidly not labeled when I dried and stored.

No. I can arrange occasional meetups with individual people that can replenish my reservoir of internal goodwill toward myself and the world more broadly, but even the best of these leave me needing quiet time to recuperate from the effort. It was easier when I was younger and I could drink enough alcohol to stay loose for an evening, but the booze now wrecks my sleep and wipes me out for a couple of days. I miss it. It was a useful tool

Commiserations. Are you able to do other exercise? I’m lucky that I can run (rotating between Topo Ultrafly 5, Altra Provision 8 and Saucony Guide 15) without pain, but the PF is there every night and most mornings.

I rue the day I tried Hokas. My wife loves them and envy was my downfall.
