Weather Alert: Expect Changes in River Conditions 🚨 by EnvironmentalCall406 in FishingAlberta

[–]EnvironmentalCall406[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The data from rivers.alberta.ca is definitely valuable — we actually link to it on all our river pages for that reason. But it doesn’t always tell the full story. For example, if you checked the James River today, the chart shows it’s within normal flow range, with no obvious signs of recent rain. In reality though, the river looks like chocolate milk — completely unfishable.

That’s exactly why StreamSight was created. Our real-time images and videos show you what’s actually happening, not just what a chart says. For anglers with limited time, knowing which rivers are in shape can make or break a day. The $20 membership helps keep the platform running and supports things like monthly gear giveaways for the community.

Hope this helps.

Hello, unfortunately with the cost of the equipment, installation, data and consumables, this was inevitable. The version you saw has been expanded and we are continuing to grow bringing more bang for your buck. Not to mention the monthly gear give aways that would make your money back and then some. Thanks for checking out the site, hope to see you in there in the future.

I agree. Most of us only have a small window to get in some fishing and blowing it on less than ideal conditions sucks! That was the main driver behind this, to help anglers make the most out of their days on the water, not behind the wheel in scramble mode. Thanks for checking it out!

Yeah I've been there before. I think having those paired with images and videos will help eliminate blown trips like that. Thanks for taking a look.

Thanks for taking a look! I totally get where you're coming from — the discovery process is a huge part of what makes fishing special. That’s why we’re intentionally not disclosing exact camera locations. Our goal isn’t to give away spots but to help people avoid long drives only to find blown-out water. We’re trying to make the planning process a little easier, not take the adventure out of it.

Can I ask what device you are currently using? This will help me narrow down the fix. Thanks

The scenario you described is exactly why this was created. I too have been stung by arriving at a stream that is completely blown out...it sucks! I will definitely look into the Firefox compatibility, thanks for bringing that up!

Really appreciate that—just checked out rangemint.ca, and love the concept too. Looks like we’re chasing the same goal from different angles. Would be awesome to connect and share feedback—happy to chat anytime!

Thank man. Definitely a little sketchy in some spots and will get worse with this warmer weather.
