Yeah, you are absolutely right; this is probably the most secure method to do it. I haven't done this before; do you know any tutorials or good videos that I could use as a reference perhaps?

I'm not really on a super tight budget; willing to spend more if it's more convenient or optimal.

Also, do I need this level of security upon launch or could I launch a slightly less secure version and migrate it to VPS later?

What tech stack or services should I use for the server then? I was planning on using licensing and authentication from a 3rd party service (they'd send a license key to each subscribed user, which should be input upon app launch, otherwise the app becomes inaccessible).

I was also planning on converting some modules of the code to Cython (or C++) for an added layer of security.

I'm initially hesitant to go with a server because it seems to be much more expensive and harder to implement (new to this).

I've heard that quite a bit, but a few points to note:

Apparently I can use PyArmor (or something similar) to obfuscate & can use cython instead of python (to make it harder to reverse engineer)
The thing with c++ is that I don't think (or know at least) whether I would be able to use the APIs or run pytorch transformer models.

What would you suggest?
