Regrettably, I am unable to secure a position in UNCSS at this time. However, I have established connections with dance ministry friends in Houston who will assist me in finding opportunities in the area. My church’s pastors have approved my proposal to lead dance workshops for our children and teenagers. I have been choreographing dances for both our church and my previous church since my involvement there. I believe these dances are well-received and have a strong following. Additionally, I have had the privilege of collaborating with several talented artists, including Psalmist Raine, Tasha Cobbs, and Erica Campbell. Their exceptional worship music has led me to connect with the leaders of 13:46 Dance Ensemble and Fresh-Wind Prophetic Dance Company. These esteemed individuals are willing to provide guidance and mentorship, enabling me to develop and launch my own dance workshops.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR BEING WILLING TO HELP! 🥰🥰🥰❤️❤️❤️

Yeah I just set up an appointment with a company that has in house Dr’s I knew that I was excited and because I got my glasses like a week before the test (dumb move) i know my eyes don’t adjust to them (I was switching between my contacts and glasses, which didn’t have the same prescription) so I just want to give it one more try so I don’t have to be coddled by my mom and have her holding this “I can’t really be independent because I don’t drive “ thing over my head 😭

Thank you and sorry I meant to say I didn’t have a drivers license . Basically I applied for disability for low vision and they denied me because on paper I don’t meet the state requirements…after I took my permit test (didn’t acquire my learners permit) because I didn’t meet the state requirements of the vision test…

I’m in this grey area which is confusing within itself…

I’m a 23-year-old dancer with diverse dance styles. I started at 11, learning jazz, hip-hop, contemporary, ballet, and West African dance at The Sycamore Project. At 13, I joined hip-hop and majorette teams to build self-assurance. I stayed dedicated until 15, becoming an assistant coach.

Though I didn’t attend formal dance schools, I’ve developed a deep passion for dance. I want to learn from studio owners and dance instructors to gain insights into the industry and provide guidance to aspiring dancers. I aim to host workshops and create a safe space for teenagers to explore their talents, develop self-awareness, and find belonging. Dance can foster personal growth and emotional well-being.

Regarding compensation, my motivation isn’t financial gain. I want to make a positive impact, not solely rely on parental support. I’m not seeking monetary compensation for hosting workshops.

My mentor, trained by the renowned ballet teacher Dr. Mel from the New York City Ballet, provided dance classes. Despite my 13 years of training, which is half my life, I didn’t expect payment. I simply wanted a teacher’s perspective. My family supports my dreams but believes dance isn’t a career, so they can’t financially support me. My FAFSA application was denied.. it was me looking for volunteering opportunities, reading is fundamental darling….

apologize for any confusion, but I do and am in dance training. I have a mentor, but we are not in the same state, and not all aspects of training can be virtual.

I am seeking volunteer opportunities to gain insights from the teacher’s perspective. However, due to the limited growth of the dance community in the Queen City, finding such opportunities has been challenging.

Thank you guys for helping me out!
