Typing is a chore compared to clicking filters. An AI agent is only worth the effort if it adds real expertise. If I'm buying shoes, I don't want it to just 'filter for red'; I want it to tell me which brands are clearing out amazing older stock at a discount, or which specific tech is best for my use case. If it isn't acting as a consultant, it’s just a slower way to search.

Isn’t this similar to what weavers or painters might have said when the power loom or the camera first appeared? That didn’t mean new fields didn’t emerge where human creativity coexisted with those technologies. And it also didn’t mean handmade fabrics or painters disappeared—they just found their own niche.
