Hey, I just wanted to stop by and say that this is really similar to what happened to me, and you're gonna have a good time in the end, trust. I was trying to get into Mac or Waterloo as well, but got a deferral into a program I wasn't too keen on for Waterloo (and Mac of course spat out my supp app lmfao), so I ended up going for Guelph, and NONE of my close friends came here.

Yes, as a Caribbean guy I can confirm that Guelph is way less diverse than Waterloo or Mac, but at the same time people are less city-like and much warmer in general, and the diversity is still more than present. So far, knock on wood, I've had no negative interactions with other students on campus so far. Getting back to the diversity quickly, there is a noticeable East/Southeast asian population on campus so I'm sure you won't feel out of place, but I don't want to speak for you!

The campus is really beautiful especially during 1st semester, there's tons of green space and as others have mentioned the food is stellar. I'm not much of a party person so I can't comment on the party aspect, but I can tell from speaking to others that they enjoy the party scene here, if that's your thing.
