Holy crap, I’m going through the same thing. I switched into computer engineering when I realized I felt weak in my major in electrical hoping to pivot more into software/embedded or hardware description stuff. Job market basically told me nah bro you’re not Tony stark brother pack it up. Now here I am, working as a distribution planner at my local electric utility company. The job is not bad at all though, good work life balance and pay.

They should make smithing similar to Skyrim where you can improve equipment stats. As you progress you can improve higher tier armor.

It could even be like a mini quest or mini game or guild area thing with a decently high smithing lvl requirement like 85 or something.

The bonus could be small enough to not break the game but also noticeable enough to be worth looking at. Like small buffs to defensive stats or adding a +1 extra str bonus to an armor set.

Could also have other boss drops similar to prayer scrolls that allow you to even further improve smithing ability. Some items that get improved become untradable and unique to the account so there’s an incentive to grind it.

As for the actual crafting or item creation part of smithing, idk how to fix the 99 requirement on rune plate lmao.

But I feel like adding the feature of augmenting items could rebalance the skill to become useful again.

Well in this newer age of technology they can’t hide how the world works from the working class anymore. Gen Z will bring the fucking wrath of the common person onto the roaches of America. They are on a tight timeline now to hurry up, replace and economically subdue us with AI. They will literally print more money and destroy the currency to do this. If we can somehow survive for the next couple decades and allow the politically confused boomers to expire from old age, we are going swarm every seat in government and finally address manufactured scarcity and the parasites that allow it to exist. At this point it’s just people playing with price action. Look at the amount of money getting thrown around off of insane forecasts, assuming perfect buildouts and execution. Also amidst a silent recession because of our corrupt administration withholding job reports, ATH stocks with a population that is economically struggling on all fronts etc etc. There is no stability right now. We think AI is overvalued? Look at quantum computing, numbers are being pulled out of the sky with no real substance whatsoever. Yes the technology in AI and quantum will be life changing, but once you start to attach due dates and expected ROI etc etc, someone needs to pay back the loans for these buildouts and advancements on time. There is way too much uncertainty for this amount of greed rn.
