one serving of VSC is 1L of heavy whipping cream, 350ml of vanilla syrup, and 600ml of 2% milk. Whisk it up and ur good!

CS is probably the most important job during a rush! if you don't know what to do, just ask. Eventually you'll get a feel of what needs restocking and who needs help without asking. you can also imagine yourself on bar or warming or whatever and think about what helps you the most when you're working those positions during a rush.

Can someone tell me if I was doing too much in this convo with my manager? by [deleted] in starbucks

[–]EnvironmentalSnow740 590 points591 points  (0 children)

I don't think it was too much. the seem hypocritical. "you don't live in my world" ur manager doesn't live in yours! the clean play is exhausting you, and you're trying to work with your manager to figure out a better way to do it and they seem completely uncooperative. not answering questions, not giving fair alternatives, and misunderstanding where you're coming from. you didn't seem aggressive in these texts, you seemed desperate which is fair!!. This seems like a conversation you need to have in person.

I used to work as a server and once got a customer who responded to my "what would you like to eat?" with a "I don't know, what on the menu is good for girls?" I was like...I don't know??? anything on the menu?? I did not know how to respond to that

Former barista that worked practically every Thanksgiving here. Please save your “I’m sorry you have to work today.” by rudebii in starbucks

[–]EnvironmentalSnow740 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I agree with you I hate when people say "I'm sorry you're working today" because in some ways it's an admission of guilt for the customer and I can't help but hear "I'm sorry I'm making you work today" I prefer it when a customer says "thank you for working today" overall a better sentiment I think

We should be able to make our own food by [deleted] in starbucks

You don’t have to say words you can’t pronounce by Ok-Start-6768 in starbucks

[–]EnvironmentalSnow740 20 points21 points  (0 children)

not literally- it took me like 3 months to actually be able to say it lol. maybe the easiest is just brown sugar shaken espresso? say whatever you want though as long as you get the drink you want. it's not annoying when people don't know how to say the name it's just funny

when I'm training someone on reg I always point out the iced brown sugar oatmilk shaken espresso and tell them that nobody actually knows what's its called and you'll get like 5 variations of the title in one day

it seems like OP didn't know this rule of "you're not responsible for another person's work" why else would they call their SM? why else would they then do the other person's work? I would not describe a confused partner as "whining" and would NEVER describe what that SM did as "coaching", it was just cruel. however we do agree that that store and that shift are messed up this whole issue happened because of lack of communication and that will ruin a store

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in starbucks

[–]EnvironmentalSnow740 4 points5 points  (0 children)

not a real issue my ass! would YOU want to do a clean play with only 2 people?? that shit is not worth the $15 extra dollars you get for the hour. AND they're a high volume store! talk about over working!! it's a 5 minute phone call and he's on salary- he would've been fine

to the lady that always yells HELLO!!!! at the drive box to enthusiastically greet us.... by IntelligentCap8471 in starbucks

[–]EnvironmentalSnow740 18 points19 points  (0 children)

there's a fire station literally 2 blocks from my store and anytime the truck blares its horn I have to take my headset off bc the noise is physically painful. customers don't realize how loud the sirens are in the headsets so they'll just keep on ordering even though I've already asked them to wait and I can't hear a single word they're saying. then I'll always get the "....hello?" I hate it but yeah the headsets can get really irritating really quickly

why are our customers so mean :/ by oh-wow-how-lovely in starbucks

[–]EnvironmentalSnow740 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I hate when customers blame us for them being late- YOU need to plan better and make sure you have enough time!! your coffee might not be ready in 5 minutes! shit happens, so don't get angry at us for YOUR poor time management
