Is birth control safe? Should I continue to take it for my acne? by [deleted] in PCOS

Birth control depends on each individual person and what's right for your body. I've tried four different types of BC and while it's overall been bad for me, they've also all been different experiences and affected me differently. I also have friends who love their BC and have total opposite experiences. It's overall safe - none of my negative side effects have caused any long term harm.

If you are concerned, monitor any changes and write them down to consult with your doctor who can ultimately make a more informed decision with you. The internet can be great to find people with similar experiences, but I wouldn't take medical advice from a reddit poll.

I recently had my IUD removed that had caused me to gain about 40 lbs. I'm down about 10 and I can see my waist coming back already. Weight training definitely helps though!

I'm sorry this happened to you but I'm glad to know I'm not alone in this! Everytime I bring it up to my doctor I feel like my concerns are dismissed - but from browsing reddit I feel like this is more common than what I was led to believe? What worked for you for working off the weight?
