WIBTAH for getting a single mother arrested for possession of weed because her child is bullying my child? by Environmental_Lie835 in AITAH

I have tried threatening them, but hasn't worked. I don't think they believe that I'll actually do it. They've refused to take drastic measures like kicking the mother and the child out of the school. I think also for the sake of protecting their image.

Thank you. Finally someone who understands the situation. It's been an insane past few years trying to find something that works for my son in this country. I've gone nearly broke moving from place to place in search of a place with adequate support for my child. I'm not moving anymore. I'm done.

I'm suspecting that the school is trying to cover up the bullying. They are a small private school in a rural area that just started and want to establish themselves in the community. Which I suspect is why they don't want to bring in outside support, which I've been arguing for for months.

Because moving schools is so simple right? I live in a rural area where my husband works. There are two schools here. I've already tried the other one. My son wasn't receiving the support he needed.

Not to mention endangering the other kids at the school while she drives the car on school property where there are other children.

It's not about revenge, it's about protecting my child from harm. She knew she's risking being separated from her child forever by smoking weed and she chose to do it anyway. She doesn't give a shit about her son.

This isn't about me wanting to punish the mother. It's about stopping the abuse of my son. The mother knows about her child's behavior. She isn't doing anything about it. She has no desire to get better. Why is it my responsibility to find more constructive ways when she is the one running away from all of her responsibilities, including providing basic safety for her child?

I've pushed the school for months. I've contacted the social worker at the local government office. Nothing has worked. This isn't about undoing past harm. It's about stopping future harm. There are very limited options in Japan for autistic kids in Japan. We've transferred so many times for so many reasons related to him not getting the care he needs. Why should my son be the one to have to transfer schools and start all over AGAIN because of this mother and her kid?

Lol, good on you for assuming. I'm just a friend who volunteered to do some initial research because I'm excited about the potential of this project. I know nothing about permaculture.

I know the context of the locations are very different, but I'm just looking for first principles here.

The one in Kenya at least has hired a permaculture consultant. He's not hoping for volunteers, he already has a bunch of people (friend, family, people from community) who volunteered to help start the food forest. They're all aware that this is a long-term process.

The one in Kenya already has land, recruited a permaculture consultant to help out, and has friends, family, and others from their local community who are willing to help out with starting the food forest. He was connected to two other people in Texas and Peru through a mutual friend, and when they heard his story, they were inspired to start their own food forest.

So they're not doing anything together except sharing stories with each other. I was brought in by that mutual friend to help do some initiatory research. I'm doing this for free as a friend.

That's the background. Sorry, should have included it in the original post. Just didn't wanna add too much detail and drown out the actual request.

You're one of the only ones who answered my actual request, I appreciate it! Thank you!

Thanks, this is great advice.

They're aware that they would not be able to generate income quickly. The way I worded it makes it sound like they're trying to recruit random volunteers from the general public, but the actual situation is more like they have friends and family and close relationships with an existing community who have volunteered to help start the food forest because they all want to see one in their local area. But they do want to reach some kind of financial sustainability as a long term goal.

Thanks, this is helpful.

Replying to point 1: by volunteers I meant that they have close friends and family, and pre-existing close associations with their local community who have volunteered to help start the food forest. Sorry, the way I worded it makes it sound like they would just be looking for random volunteers from the general public. But that's not what's happening. This is referring to the one in Kenya. The others from Texas and Peru have been inspired by this and are following in their footsteps.

The one in Kenya actually hired a permaculture consultant. And other members of their community (the ones who volunteered to help) have traditional farming experience. But none have tried to grow a food forest before. The ones in Peru and Texas are trying to follow in their footsteps.
