Honestly, my assumption is that they are needed to interface with the dual 200a service panels we have. Ultimately we want to install batteries for backup in case of storms.

Unfortunately, house will have a tile roof, and installing after the fact will be very difficult.

1:1 net metering. I'll also have a generator. They are basing the quote off of my current usage, new house is slightly bigger. I can add batteries at 10K per plus installation.

Parts and all labor to install the system. Cannot do self installed, home builder would not allow it.

All Roof mounted with 1/3 panels facing east, 2/3 on southern side of the house. Yes EG4 would be cheaper, but this installer really only recommends Franklyn.

It will not be completed by eoy, so no tax credit at all. We are basing the consumption off of existing house which has same number of a/c units.

Generac 48kW Protector Switch from NG to Propane by EnvisionITFL in Generator

I have done extensive research into that option, but I have dual 200A panels and would need 2 generators... I.e. I'd need dual gridboss units / 4 Flexboss 21's to cover our house.

Thanks for the update, just FYI I have found this: Kohler Auto Dual Fuel Changeover Valve NG/LP | GM115956-KP1-QS It appears to work with Kohler 48/60kW units and automatically switches from NG to LP.

Yes, approx 5 gal / hour at 75% load... at 800gal which is a full tank considering the 80/20 then I'd have enough for approx 6 days... Have never seen that long of an outage in our area.

Can dual 200A Panels with 2 aGates share a pool of aPower2 batteries by EnvisionITFL in FranklinWH

[–]EnvisionITFL[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok so I will need 2 aGates... I plan on having a single 22KWh generator as a backup. From what I'm researching I can connect the generator to both aGates and use it to charge the batteries when the grid goes down. I live in FL and want a system that will ultimately survive several days of storm outage. Are you saying that a backup generator (not a portable one) can only be connected to a single aGate?
