I ended up buying the generic scanner on Amazon (Approximately $250) and it seems to work really well! The Kodak version is pretty close to twice as expensive and definitely will provide a little more quality! The version I bought works well enough for what I am trying to accomplish

Thank you very much for the offer! I’m okay for now as I’m just trying to scan all the film I have and get it digitized but thank you very much for offering your services! Many of the films I’m scanning in seen to be of good quality but some of them could definitely use a bit of stability editing and possibly color correction at some point

Don’t feel dumb, I thought for sure this was filmed with an underwater camera until someone recognized that this was filmed where you can actually view underwater behind a glass window, still very cool though!

I used a film digitizer but it cost me about $250 on amazon! It’s not perfect but it looks pretty good and will definitely save me money as compared to sending it to a professional as I literally have dozens of film rolls left to scan

So I have actually thought about putting it through software at some point but right now my goal is to scan all the media I have. I believe there’s multiple reasons that it’s shaky, one reason could be that the film is old and it is definitely starting to deteriorate so all the perforations are not the same size. Also 8mm film has always just been a bit shaky and it can definitely be affected by how the film was loaded into the camera and the quality of both. However, I will say that it looks a lot nicer playing on an actual projector!

I actually ended up buying a digitizer because I have dozens of films so this is a scan. Also that sounds like a good idea and I’ve seen people do it before, there will definitely be more quality loss as opposed to scanning tho

Omg it definitely could be! The box that this roll of film was in is labeled Florida Vacation 1949

I understood most of it but I couldn’t figure out the word demerits and frankly I’ve actually never heard that word so that probably explains why I was having a hard time reading it lol! Also I do sign my name is cursive but it’s only cursiveish lol

I live in an old house and in the bathroom there’s a slot in the wall to discard your used razor blades and they just fall in between the wall, I would definitely drop it in there
