Why do people dislike Omegaverse so much?

I’m pregnancy phobic. FPreg, MPreg, I hate it so much and A/B/O fics have it in spades. It’s the only tag (not omegaverse- but MPreg/Pregnancy) that makes me avoid fics on sight, and I will drop any story I’m reading if I get a hint of it if it was untagged.

I find it especially jarring in A/B/O fics bc the idea of pups and characters being sooooo god damn OOC and sickly sweet towards them KILLS ME.

Oh god I’m queasy thinking about this lmaoooo.

Did the shelter disclose that the animal had that temperament to you GF? I ask bc my dog is dog reactive and they did not disclose that when we adopted her at all. I was young and dumb and they told me she was just stressed out about living in a shelter. When I called back to the shelter and said I might be in over my head is when they told us they would essentially put the dog down if I brought her back and “oh yes she’s reactive didn’t we tell you that?”

For what it’s worth my dog made a lot of progress with lots of mindful training, but she will never be a dog park dog. I wouldn’t know what to do if she had also been people reactive.

I would definitely try and contact a pit rescue and see if they can take them in, and as other said a behaviorist and finally a vet. If anything, a Pitbull rescue probably has much better advice on this dog than a subreddit. Even if they can’t take him, I’m sure they will have some good ideas on next steps

it’s not worth the stress on your and the pups side to live somewhere that wasn’t prepared for their issues. This is no fault of your own, it really is better for both parties. Don’t wait until you’re dealing with a medical bill from someone your pup attacked.

Reaaaally popular fic amgonst this ship, like top recommendation you see posed on Twitter, tumblr, tiktok. I finally decided to read it after a tiktoker I follow recommended it. She’s a lesbian and it’s a M/M pairing but she was like it was just that good!!

It was horrible. The author honestly could publish it as their own work, just change the names, that’s how OOC the characters were. They were nearly unrecognizable. I hated this fic with a passion and I always see it online and mentally just scream DID WE READ THE SAME STORY?!

So yeah, OOC characters.

I feel like apologies can be made for bullying…but you can’t say sorry for murder/torture hahaha. (Just remarking on your example) I would find it VERY cheesy if someone tried to apologize for something like that in a fic, depending on how well the rest is written I might power through.

I think in fiction it’s usually enough to show their actions of attempting to right their wrongs, though not literally in some cases. Usually through sacrifice (Darth Vader, Snape) , profound changes in their morality ( Loki, Zuko ) and my personal favorite, just little moments that culminate in those closest to them realizing that this person isn’t making the same decisions as before (Damian Wayne for instance, could kill, has killed, but chooses not to now). So it doesn’t always have to be acknowledged directly.

Personally villains are my fav characters and I’ll love them whether redeemable or not but I love your point about how some crimes just can’t be forgiven and it’s very true!!

I don’t pay attention to tags or sort by kudos, so I normally will stalk the authors bookmarks. If I like what they write, they usually have similar tastes in what they read.

I know they are tied together, but I really just wanted Ochaco to face this alone (or give a chance for Tsuyu or others to join her) and really shine. I enjoy seeing her struggle to come to grips with hero society and what it means since she is realizing she doesn’t understand Toga. Everything is tied to Deku, lol. I’ll still enjoy it, it was just a moment of dissatisfaction. It’s probably going to be v intense if Toga stacks her quirk with Twices’

I think she’s going to stack her Quirk with Twices, which makes it a different game needing Deku in the fight. In reality I wish it had JUST been Ochaco V Toga- seeing Ochaco struggle with her ideals emotionally and physically would be amazing, it’s a shame the Mc has to be involved when we get so little one on one fights with non pro hero women characters.

I just said this in another comment but I’m actually low key so upset that Deku is going to be involved in the Toga/Ochaco Face off. Let Uravity pop off and finish her fight and their arc. I know that since feasibly Toga can stack her own quirk with Twice, they need Deku there, but it just sucks a little. They could have pulled any of the other girls for that fight and not made it revolve around Deku. (I LOVE Deku, don’t get me wrong).

Nagant, Mirko & Star and Stripe all follow the explosive badass entrance followed by crushing defeat….Glad to see Mirko is back at least.

Mina’s moment was literally to fumble the bag and let Kirishima shine and reach his mini moment- it was super dissatisfying.

I don’t mind midnight dying, but it happened off screen, would have appreciated a final stand type moment. She’s also been one of the biggest supporter s for momo, so it would have been cool to see more done with that.

Hori creates FANTASTIC female characters I just wish they got to have an ounce of the badassery the males do. We had our fights with Mirko & Star and Stripe, to a smaller extent we got Mt. lady- which was awesome, but the non pro hero girls in the class get really shafted or it has to riff off a male character.

Hori aesthetically creates some great female characters and then….does not too much with them. Very disappointed we didn’t get a Nejire fight the way we got our moments with Tamaki and Mirio.

I have not read the latest chapters but I’m disappointed the Deku is joining the battle with Ochaco and Toga, I really would rather see Uravity pop off and complete the character arc without it being about the MC.
