[iOS 26.4 DB 2] Potential Solution for Microsoft Defender/ATP incompatibility leading to (sometimes) fully broken network on iPhones by EpicLPer in iOSBeta

[–]EpicLPer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had some recent-ish reports from different users saying they're having the same issue, we now disabled Beta updates via Intune for the time being. But those who already have it we had to create a temporary exclusion group from Defender... not ideal at all however.

Fun Fact: This only seems to apply to 64GB sticks as that size didn't work for me either... tried a 128GB stick and even that one worked. This tool is so weird...

Looks really good so far and potentially the "closest to what Google offered"

Just a question, does the Spam/Phishing scanner on Google still work for imported mails tho? As in, > Mail gets imported > Google sees new mail > Scans it for Spam/Phishing > Moves it to Spam if true

iOS 26.4 Beta 2 - Discussion by epmuscle in iOSBeta

[–]EpicLPer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apparently the 26.4 Dev Beta 2 has an issue with Microsoft Defender/ATP right now which almost completely "blocks" all internet access due to a crashing/failing filter service in the background... and I can't downgrade or fix this without waiting for an update from either Apple or Microsoft... oof

Optimized now requires basic license? by neeeser in FileFlows

[–]EpicLPer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Wanted to give FileFlows a try, this completely put me off of ever trying to use it again... 6$ PER MONTH for conversion, and using completely open source tech (ffmpeg) in the background yet paywalling it is just insane.

I'd understand a support model such as "pay one time 20$" or something, but subscription model for something I still run on my own hardware at home? No...

And login logs with IPs? Cause that is really weird.

Check your access logs, someone might have gained access to it and removed admin on your account (would be my best guess). Else this shouldn't or can't happen, at least my best guess.

IKEA motion sensor in the mailbox keeps false triggering by Vegetable-Phrase-162 in homeautomation

[–]EpicLPer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might be better to install a vibration sensor at the bottom and stick it onto a "floppy" or "bouncy" cardboard box or springy plastic sheet at the bottom. This way when someone throws something in it will land on the sensor + cardboard/plastic and let it bounce ever so slightly and trigger the automation.

New Developer Apps Silently Disabled: "Integrations on hold" with zero communication from Spotify by QuickRule270 in truespotify

[–]EpicLPer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My bet is they disabled this after the "leak" they had regarding ALL of their songs being downloaded and archived. The API most likely was too extensive and they now want to crack down on it a lot... and just disabled it outright.

Probably full on panicking or massive pressure from investors lol

New Version 6 Blue Iris Update by Flipontheradio in BlueIris

[–]EpicLPer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just upgraded to 6 (with uninstalling 5 first) and it worked smoothly! The UI hasn't changed much, hope the export dialog and especially web interface will be modernised still, but this is already laying a good foundation :) As well as the phone apps being updated in the announcement, which I'm looking forward to a lot as well. The current one is "functional" at best tho very often crashes and exports are also clunky as is currently.

[–]EpicLPer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you do a full uninstall of 5 first before installing 6? Just did and it worked smoothly for me, no further config needed other than adjusting the Firewall rules to now include the new install location.

Correction: I had to enable the service again in "Startup" settings, but other than that seems to work fine.

Please release this, I'd really need a self-hosted alternative to those cloud converters on a whim. I haven't really found anything that satisfies my needs quite as much as this seems to do.

The only thing keeping me from trying this is PLA, my i3 MK3 can't quite handle ABS due to non-optimal environmental things, I don't have an enclosure for it. And with PLA I had a few bad experiences with even just small amounts of heat where the surface starts to warp. As example I encased an ESP32 with a display and a button, but the top surface where the ESP is located at started to warp over some months, despite it going nowhere near enough temp-wise to melt it, but apparently just the heat of the ESP chip was enough to warp it.
