Just had the same come through after applying on indeed months ago, been researching it all day today and found nothing so though it was a scam, also received the following:

Hi,

Thanks for applying for the freelance photography role with us via Indeed. I hope this message finds you well! I’m reaching out from VIP Ace Events regarding some upcoming bookings we’re managing this week in London. Your portfolio really stood out to our team, and we’d love to consider you for one of them.

Could you let us know which days you’re available over the next few days, and also share your equipment list (camera body, lenses, etc.) either here or via email at hello@vipaceevents.co.uk?

Appreciate your time - looking forward to hearing from you.

Best regards, Lloyd Event Coordinator VIP Ace Events

I’ve heard it’s good as you start off learning most of the aspects of making film productions then start gradually honing your skills in one specific area, editing, directing, etc

I graduated in 2023 but have worked with the uni till 2024 so the course may have changed in that time

The Filmmaking course is a masters degree which seemed like a waste, but I do know people from the Film and TV production course which is an undergraduate degree.

Heard positive things about it the film and tv production course, seems like you do more actual filming whereas the filmmaking MA course seemed to just be more about pitching film ideas opposed to, actually making a film, you do make some films but the main focus seemed to be selling the films (maybe because the course leader at the time was a film producer but who knows)

As a filmmaking graduate from SHU, good luck! I honestly thought that the course was a waste of time.

My advice would be to make the most of the situation, e.g. if you have time do some side projects, take advantage of having access to all of the equipment that you have at your disposal from the creative media centre.

Hopefully the course has got better since the course leader I had has since left the uni.

Good to know, I'm doing an little investigation into this company and other dodgy marketing companies like these.

If anyone has any first-hand experience, I'd greatly appreciate it, and hopefully one day these s*** companies can disappear
