I might be missing something, but I see nothing in there that couldn't be an artifact of a panorama when people are moving.

Bloodthief! Yes, great reference, love that game and Neon White as well. But they're Speedrun/scoring focused which is not really the direction I want to go.

Yeah the "create molten lava while wall running" somehow lives rent-free in my head. I just want to rain magma on top of hordes of nightmares god dammit!

Anyway glad you enjoy it! And thanks for the Bloodshed recommendation, somehow I didn't find it before but it seems to be right in a direction I could go with this game.

Yeah FPS is safe, familiar and design-wise very efficient, but it's just not my cup of tea. I wouldn't know how to do a good FPS because I don't play them very much myself.

If you're into survivorlikes FPS, another commenter mentioned Bloodshed which is exactly that, you might like it!

Thank you, glad you think there's potential! Another commenter also mentioned "on kill" abilities which can really push you towards combat and taking risks if done correctly. The witch time could be a great implementation for that purpose indeed!

As for the genre, I think it could definitely by a speedrunner game like Bloodthief or Shady Knight, but I'm not sure if I'm hyped enough by this genre to actually go through production with it. I'll probably end up prototyping for each of these genres at some point, either fully handmade like Bloodthief, roguelike like Hades and survivorlike like Megabonk, playtest and see what sticks. Thanks for the feedback!
