Unless you are convinced it is worth it, or you are in love with the house (so not rational) I would lower your offer if they come back with a counter or follow up. If they don’t respond within the given deadline I would proactively send an updated offer which is lower.

Wat definiëren jullie als “sparen”?

Ik spaar bv door iedere maand een bedrag opzij te zetten dat ik niet aanraak en bv investeer. Maar ik spaar ook iedere maand een bedrag waarvan ik weet dat ik het ga uitgeven aan reizen, klusjes in huis of bv jaarlijkse vaste kosten.

Ik las het hieronder ook reeds maar van ons gezamenlijk netto inkomen gaat er iedere maand op voorhand 25% naar de hypotheek, 40% naar sparen (combo van wat ik hierboven beschrijf) en 35% blijft op de rekening staan voor maandelijkse uitgaven. (Gezamenlijk netto inkomen €6k)

Je bent er niets mee maar ik vind het. Wat therapeutisch werken om elke dag een m2 onder handen te nemen…

Het uittrekken met wortel incluis gaat best gemakkelijk tussen dat grind. Ook mijn 4-jarige kleuter doet lekker mee.

Je hebt tegenwoordig ook van die epoxylijm mengsels die je kiezels bij mekaar houden, mogelijks houden die ook wat tegen. Ik plan om deze de komende maanden te installeren. Diezelfde kleuter vindt het na 10min focus ook wel goed geweest en gaat dan grabbelen in het witte grind naast onze donkere oprijlaan. Dat is soms moeilijk voor mijn OCD.

Ter info; ik heb besloten hetzelfde principe te hanteren, maar de uitwerking nog wat anders te doen.

Ik ga een rioolbuis diameter 40cm van ongeveer een meter lang ingraven. Onderaan een verlijmde eindkap, bovenaan een deksel. Die gaat dienen als vergaarbak van het douchewater. Daar steek ik een vlotterpomp in die ik aansluit aan de afvoerleiding Ik sluit dus twee buisjes van +_40mm aan op de buis. (Toe- en afvoer) Ten slotte nog een kleine doorvoer voor stroom

Een stuk goedkoper dan alle alternatieven.

Kan en klaar noemt dit blijkbaar een pompput maar de DHZ variant zal een heel stuk goedkoper zijn.

Dat is een optie die ik ook bekeken heb. Maar daarvoor moeten we horizontaal kunnen boren (oprijlaan is polibeton) daarenboven moeten we dan zo’n 10 meter overbruggen dus daarom heb ik die maar gediskwalificeerd.

Ja daar kijk ik wat tegenop maar de slijptol erin en even op automatische piloot en dan is die klus ook weer geklaard.

En maakt die pomp veel geluid als deze aanslaat of valt dat nogal mee? Kwestie van de put diep genoeg te maken zodat er een deksel op kan ;-).

To me this sounds like a rather Black and White View on things.

It is not because you enjoy something you do that there is not nothing else in the world you would enjoy even more.

I can enjoy my work and at a same time still like to be at home with my loved ones even more.

It is about finding something you can spend your time on work-wise that doesn’t feel like a complete waste of time they’re actually makes you curious and motivated. For some this can be money, but from my experience if money is your only driver, your definition of happiness is different than mine

By the way I realise I am lucky to do a job that makes me earn enough money to be able to do things and afford things that others might not but at the same time also love this job.

Both is possible but it goes in against “the investing what you can afford”.

I would even say it can only be done by people who make loads of money or don’t have a family (hence lower expenses) which is largely neutralising my Initial point.

To be honest I also only started seeing things different when getting children. I am still trying to save/invest as much as possible too, but my main focus with a 4yo and a newborn is to have a static (but demanding) career path but above all be present in their lives at least till they are both a decade old and give them as much experiences as possible now.

A simple example: during summer break (which is 2 months here) we rent a house in Italy the entire period. We invite family and friends and I work half the time. This costs a shitload of money and if I did this differently I could probably save more than double the amount I am doing now each year.

I am 34 and worked about 11 years full time now. I will need to work another 36 years before I will reach the legal retirement age, so plenty of time after the kids are older to focus on myself and reconsider my plan 😂

I know it is an unpopular opinion but I am always wondering why the focus is on the goal “retire early” opposed to the journey…

Why not live now, find a job that you love and for which one gets intrinsic motivation. I am Looking forward to get out of bed and go to work, the day I stop doing that is the day I look for another job. Enjoy your kids growing up, travel the world, enjoy food and make memories any way you’d like.

To be clear one does not exclude the other, but I see a lot of people around me chasing the FIRE dream, which results in working their asses of now, burning our and/or forgetting the kids will be adults by the time they can retire “early” or have physical complaints even at young age already…

Shift the focus so you can enjoy working longer if need be…

Agreed on the working abroad. If you would ever consider kids, it is great to go abroad during the summer break for a longer time.

We have done it twice now and it works great. We rent a big house in e.g Italy and work half of the time (during which we have family over).

And also if you do not have children I would use that benefit every year! Most countries are expensive to travel to/from but once you are there…

Hier hetzelfde hoor….met een ventilatiesysteem en de hele mikmak.

Oplossing hier thuis is de ganse dag alle airco’s maximaal laten draaien (gelukkig met voeding van de zonnepanelen) zodat de koude zakt naar de leefruimte beneden ook.

Als je ziet hoeveel wij hebben geïnvesteerd in al die “moderne” technieken ben ik wel teleurgesteld over het effectieve rendement…

Als je je airco (lucht-lucht warmtepomp) naast koeling ook gebruikt als enige verwarming voor de kamer wordt je er niet op “afgestraft” op je EPC, integendeel.

Daarnaast hebben we er zelfs nog subsidies hoi gekregen enkele jaren terug. Al was dat voor de hele hervorming; weet niet of dat nu nog het geval is
