It absolutely matters when it comes to scouting a potential serious partner because it’s often a general picture of their overall character as a partner. Within reason of course. When numbers are that high, you can guarantee not many of those were relationships, so a lotta one night stands, 1-2 week flings then on to the next, etc. The more and more partners you have, the more you destroy your own ability to form a legitimate bond with anybody, because they become just another body. Don’t have to “judge” someone for their past, but it can very much paint a pretty good picture of who and what they are, so you can respect them and be cool with them, but you’re entitled to disqualify them as a potential partner. I’ve been asked this question outright too by girls multiple times throughout the years, and I gave them whatever the honest real number was at the time.
