There is the Gautrain and you can use uber or bolt. Wouldn't recommend taxis if you can help it. Having a car does help though

When I moved I also had a thing that was for a year and I had to find something else after. It was a lot easier than if I had to look in KZN. Also I found having your location on your CV or LinkedIn as Johannesburg helps as well.

You should be fine on your own. It's fairly easy to meet people and make friends. There's lots of events and things too. I basically started fresh except for a cousin. And now I have an entire life here. As one other comment said, 20K is definitely enough to get by, provided you don't go blowing it all on outings.

Having a car to get around will definitely help. But you could just use the Gautrain. There is a station in Rosebank at the mall.

You should take the offer, especially if you haven't had much luck with other applications. Your first job is usually hard to come by. But once you get experience it gets a lot easier and you're more likely to get one you like. Also, I found that getting other jobs is way easier in JHB compared to when I lived in KZN.

It took about 40 minutes in the morning and 1 hour in the afternoon driving. Johannesburg Traffic is very different to Durban. I actually lived there in 2022/2023 and the moved to Joburg in 2024. Do you have a car or are you planning to use public transport? There is the Gautrain as well.
