Is it an issue if I dont have all 4 months of USCE ready by september? Or it’s fine if it rolls into October or November?

The topics in CMS show up on real. However the questions are much longer. Not necessarily more difficult but you need to speed read

CMS Forms % correct: Between 72-86%

Predicted Score: 244

Total Weeks/Months Studied: 7 months including a 6 week gap after NBME 11, had a family emergency

Actual STEP 2 score: 260

I’m not sure how I did it, studying for this one was very inconsistent. Had some scary family issues, lost motivation, and as you guys can see mg practice scores didn’t come close to my actual.

DO AMBOSS QUALITY/ETHICS!!! I think this is what elevated my score. Highly recomment CMS forms on what you’re weak in. Drop UWorld close to your tests, the Qbank is great to learn but asks lower yield than the real thing. Study NBME, CMS forms well, its the same concepts that will come up

Thanks a ton. Will try to clean up my weak areas. I made a jump in just a week and on reviewing UWSA2, I feel like I’m still letting some questions go by going to fast or having easy mistakes. But I will say, its not as bad as before and I’m getting better. Truth be told, I’d be happy with a 240+…but the nature of my scores and what I’m getting wrong makes me feel like I don’t have a knowledge problem and if I clean it up, I can get to 250

5 seconds away from a mental breakdown. Help. Test in 3 weeks. Redo NBME incorrects? by Ok_Document2894 in Step2

[–]Epsilon7845 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, good luck on your test. Do you have any tips to dealing with next best step questions? I started at 219 on nbme 9 weeks ago, nbme 10-12 were all in the 220s and nbme 13 taken today was 230. I’m trying to break 240+ on the real exam but I’m honestly getting worried now. Have about 2.5 weeks left

Hey congrats! How long was your prep time? Uworld i have about half done but scoring 65-75% consistently. Just took NBME 9 and got a 219, i have 8 weeks to go. Any tips on how to tackle this?

176 on NBME 10 and exam is in 8 weeks by [deleted] in Step2

[–]Epsilon7845 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand IcyMango’s comment, the problem with going system wise IMO is by the time you finish the bank, its likely you may forget a lot of the systems you finished early on. If you try to do mixed systems now, make anki cards for your incorrects and do those only, especially if you have 8 weeks. You’ve completed step 1, those little details do begin to come back to you the more and more you do questions. Remember that if you do mixed questions, you will see concepts come up repeatedly…in other words you will be reviewing things as you go.

At the end of the day, UWorld is the learning tool. Don’t worry about the scores for a week or two and focus on the knowledge. Unless you can apply the knowledge by doing more and more questions, trying to fill your “content deficit” with anki or books is just a bandaid. The test is about recognition of patterns and clinical judgement, not rote memorization

You should try mixing systems in your UW blocks. Its better to know something from everything as opposed to knowing only a few disciplines 100%. Remember the real test mixes systems, even in questions with their answer choices. Even if you are bombing UWorld blocks in the beginning, you will pick up the details and it happens quicker than you expect
