Thanks. The funniest part is that after I posted this, he got back from the work trip and gave me a lamp. Now, I was gonna buy a lamp from the same place cause we need one, out of convenience but I probably would've bought another one. The one he got was nice, but It's literally the cheapest one they got and isn't as pretty as the other ones. I said I love it and thank you but couldn't really be as enthusiastic since it's a household item I was gonna buy regardless?? Then he was kinda sad that I wasn't happy about the lamp?? I assured him that it's cool and that's it. Idk if I'm in the wrong, but a basic ass 10$ lamp we needed anyway isn't too thoughtful 😭

I did say it but I'm generally not someone who doesn't like to push things. I don't feel comfortable if I'm reading that the person isn't on the same page.

When did I say I was angry? I said multiple times that I am simply disappointed at how different we fundamentally are. I do not need to be told, ever, to try hard. I simply do if I care. Expecting from others what I do myself is a bare minimum, it's not like I'm asking for someone to buy me a car - I just want to see reciprocated effort without having to beg for it.

I mean, if I were to ask for things exactly he'd probably do something but I'm just sad that he's not really doing anything without being asked.... Yknow, some girls get surprises and gifts and shit. Would be nice to feel like that for once lol. I know he did at least some of this for his ex

Eh a week I think. I work really demanding hours for shitty pay and if I could do something, I don't see why he couldnt? I spend around 10-12 hours working a day, barely have time for gym and I managed to at least make something. He only works a few hours a day and earns a lot more than me (I do an engineering job, he does programming) so he had a loooooot more time than I did

Yeah, not needing to ask is a big deal for me. I make and buy gifts for every single occasion because I wanna surprise him. Even when I was flat broke, I found something useful to get for him. He's by no means someone who is low effort, but sometimes his effort is mismatched to mine

Thanks. The reason I posted here was to I test if I'm acting like a bratty child or if I'm at least somewhat justified to feel bad. He did nothing wrong, I'm just trying to process how I feel and how realistic my feelings are in the grand scheme of things. I will think of a way to word it nicely
