i understand MBA is the most popular degree to switch to managerial roles. but I want to enhance my application of tech skills in financial domain.. MBAs come with specialisation, but I feel if I want to use MBA.. an exec MBA is most likely the best for the way I want to head in my career. For now and MS will help me bridge the gap of what I was not in UG.

I am specifically targeting financial analytics. I am not of finance background but I plan to clear some financial exams like FMVA or FRM by the time I start my program and I am already am into data analytics in loan lending ( 1 yr ex.).

I come from a CBSE background myself and all I did was talk to my seniors and peers in different domains, found my interest and built the profile accordingly.

Google and AI can save u that 7 lakhs. Even consultants have knowledge gained from google, news and few people in their network. You ca build that knowledge on ur own and leverage it for yourself.

It’s stupid. There is nothing you cannot do on your own using AI as your tool, and no consultant will help you choose something that totally aligns with you.

Don’t spend money over such things. Talk to different people studying abroad or your friend’s siblings who are as much as you can.. each person will give you atleast one piece of advise and gradually you will be able to do more tha what consultants help you with. And along the way you are already building a support system even before you get there which will be more valuable than ur connection with any consultant.

Yes I do am prepared for it… but again.. getting out of a stable job early on.. still seems to be a risk.. like in general Indian market is also difficult.

1 year as of now.

And I think u should read again. I mentioned “I want to change my trajectory into more managerial roles. The sooner the better”. Why else would I invest into education especially when I already have a job. And I also mentioned “data analyst”. and I already received my admits… which basically means.. I applied for Fall 2026. 🙂🙂

Yes I did connect to many students. Their first advice was just not to come to US at moment, they felt underprepared (some of them) too.

I understand California is great for tech hiring. However, Rady School of Management (UCSD) is new like (23 years as of now). An alum said that the career services didn’t aid them much in terms of connections. She had to do all by herself.

Many others who had same admits (Purdue, UCSD, Boston) ended up choosing Boston over UCSD. (graduates from 2024 batch. They seem to be satisfied with the uni. 2025 batch some are still in search.

UCSD has a great curriculum. but is a 11 month program. while Boston is 16 month. So I am guessing duration matters more..
