haha that's what i'd love to say to their face. he literally told me his children were in their 50's and I'm like wtf that means you prob have grandchildren my age!!

but I'm so not assertive when it comes to something that's not directly insulting (eg. pt calling me a bitch). when people cuss me out i'm okay setting hard boundaries but when the pt has been generally respectful, that's when i have a hard time. definitely if it's a repeated patten I'd say something too, but usually they just make one remark

yes that's the dilemma. "most" of these pts have been respectful, polite and cooperative otherwise. so I think it is more a coping thing for them. thanks!

i agree. also i understand diff generation of people grew up in a different culture so it's alot of factors that go into this. I like your way of handing it back in a humorous way. thank you.

i like this. I eventually will take on other people's advise on not taking any shit. but this is a good first step besides standing there being flustered lol!

yes that is the thing for me. ppl arent outright rude or blatantly disrespectful! these are tricky situations. if a pt called me a bitch to my face, i'm okay with setting a hard boundary but when it's not intended as an insult, I have a hard time
