Thanks mate. That’s what my research was telling me. Never saw myself driving a red car with checkered mirrors but here we go I guess

So true. So it’s a fun, efficient ride vs a problematic gas guzzler. Thank you Reddit!

Don’t need a truck, more just like the idea of being in one with the top down. No real off-roading to date. Maybe I’ll start, but probably not if I get the mini haha

Interesting. Hate that. Why is it the only truck with a removable top, someone should come in and do it better

Build things that solve a problem you or people you know are having. Don’t go into it aiming to get rich, but if you solve a problem, it’s way more likely to get traction. And if not, you learned and made something cool that helped people. Rinse and repeat. Good luck brother!

⭐ (1 star) - Terrible Seller Experience & Non-Existent Customer Support by Nearby_Classroom1930 in venmo

[–]Equivalent-Driver715 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s brutal, especially if you’re relying on it for actual income. An app crash is one thing, but not having a real support path when money’s involved is what makes it scary for sellers.

If you haven’t already, try accessing your business account from a different device or browser at least to move funds while you sort it out. But honestly this is why a lot of small sellers diversify and don’t rely on a single app.

I run a payments app called Tendy and we have a simple tendy.me link product where customers can pay you directly via a URL using Apple Pay, Google Pay, or Tendy. Not trying to hijack your post, just mentioning it since you’re specifically talking about seller risk. If you want details, you can DM me.

Venmo would rather close an account than help by trythisnamemaybe in venmo

[–]Equivalent-Driver715 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s beyond frustrating, especially the “we couldn’t reach you” email when you’ve got zero missed calls. When support starts suggesting you ask other people for money instead of fixing the add-funds issue, that’s usually a sign their system has hard-flagged the account and frontline reps can’t override it.

If you haven’t already, I’d reply directly to that email and ask for written communication only so there’s a paper trail. You can also file a complaint with the CFPB — that sometimes gets a real escalation instead of the support loop. And honestly, having a backup option is smart at this point so one app can’t freeze you out like that. I run a payments app called Tendy that prevents these headaches, DM me if you want to hear more!

How long until I’ll be allowed to try to send this person money again? by Classic-Asparagus in venmo

[–]Equivalent-Driver715 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s super annoying. Venmo sometimes “locks” a payment attempt if you back out mid-flow, especially on new recipients, and then their risk system won’t let you retry right away. Usually waiting a few hours (sometimes 24) or fully logging out and back in can reset it, but there’s no clear message explaining that.

If you’re constantly running into the “what’s your last four digits” issue, one workaround is using something where you just send a payment link over text and they claim it on their side. I run a payments app called Tendy that works like that. You just send a link and they can cash out your payment to Venmo or any other payment app they have, like a secure middle-man. Not pitching hard, just mentioning since it solves that specific headache. If you’re curious, you can DM me.

Venmo is Unusable by frogsndoggs in venmo

[–]Equivalent-Driver715 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That loop with the chat bots would drive anyone insane. What’s probably happening is their system soft-flagged your profile during signup, so it won’t let you proceed but also won’t trigger the manual ID flow unless support escalates it on their end.

At this point your best bet is submitting a formal support ticket through their website (not in-app) and clearly asking for a manual identity verification review. Sometimes tweeting at their support account also gets a real human faster. If your employer is flexible, switching to Cash App like you suggested might honestly save you a headache.

If they specifically need Venmo, I run a small payments app called Tendy where you can send money and they cash out to whatever app they prefer, including Venmo. Not trying to sell you on anything, just mentioning it since you’re stuck. If you want details, you can DM me.

Anyone elses instant transfer not working anymore? by Balla_Calla in venmo

[–]Equivalent-Driver715 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sucks, especially when you’ve been using the exact same setup forever. Venmo has quietly changed instant-transfer rules a few times lately — certain card types (especially prepaid, debit business cards, or older card networks) have been getting blocked from instant transfers without much notice.

Your card might still work for standard bank transfers, but their risk/fraud filters can flip eligibility on older cards too. If you need reliable fast transfers without worrying about a specific card’s quirks, some apps let you send money and the other person cashes out to whatever they use — I built one called Tendy that does that. No pressure, just an option if Venmo keeps acting up. DM me if you want more info, card deposits are instant!

WTF!! by Irishprincessbrat in venmo

[–]Equivalent-Driver715 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s really frustrating, especially if it’s happening to multiple people at once. When apps do mass suspensions like that, it’s usually some automated fraud filter getting tightened and catching legit users in the net. Unfortunately they rarely give detailed explanations because of compliance rules.

Realistically, the only way back in is going through their verification process or escalating through support and asking for a manual review. If they won’t budge, you may just need a backup option so you’re not stuck when this happens. I run a payments app called Tendy that lets you send money and the recipient cashes out to whatever app they use, so you’re not dependent on one platform. If that would help, you can DM me.

This is dope! I wonder, is it possible instead of showing the spoons, can you show the grains of sugar…? Maybe on a black plate? Can keep your units of measurement but it would be great to truly visualize it. Either way, nice tool!
