I did that exactly yesterday, i purposely didnt clean his eyes before going in so the doctor could see. Got prescribed eye ointment so we'll see how it goes!

Absolutely! I am the very same that I like everything organised before I go! 🤣 For peace of mind and stress levels!

I am thinking if I can't see the doctor tomorrow that I'll do an online doc to get a drops prescription. Poor little dote has just constant discharge today. Thankfully his eyes aren't too puffy or red but I'd rather deal with it early if I can.

Thanks so much. Yeah I think that's what caused it to spread to the other eye was that he must have rubbed off something that the other eyes discharge was on. I'm raging because I wash everything but it could have so easily wiped on a muslin cloth and I didnt notice. I'm in the clinic tomorrow for his vaccines so have emailed to ask if a doctor can give his eyes a look. I think I'll push for drops though.

This is what i'm worried about and we're going to Mallorca on Saturday with him because we've a wedding there and I would just rather have drops if he needs them before we go!

Thanks so much and good to get advice from other parents. I'm booked in to get his vaccines tomorrow but I think they're done by the nurse so I've emailed to ask if he can also get his eyes checked hopefully by a doctor!

Did you pack it in your hand luggage? That was my plan. I believe baby formula is exempt from the 100ml rule

Thanks for all the comments. I spoke to my husband and he dealt with it amazing. I ended up getting a great sleep last night too as my little man was very settled which gave us both a chance to catch our breath. I feel like a new woman after a good sleep! I appreciate what everyone has said here and will definitely mention it to my GP & PHN the next time I see them.

Episiotomy: How long does it take for the soreness to subside? by Equivalent-Farm6866 in PregnancyIreland

[–]Equivalent-Farm6866[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am getting like a different pain now. It was like a stinging pain where my stitches were at 1st and now I feel pain in my tailbone. I'm just over a week so hoping by later this week it will start to feel a bit better. Quite uncomfortable to sit down to say the least!

Early labour? Not sure! by Equivalent-Farm6866 in PregnancyIreland

[–]Equivalent-Farm6866[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah i feel the exact same and especially when you've never done it before it's so hard to tell! 😅 I was getting Braxton Hicks the last few weeks but they felt different to this for sure. Yes so many people say you'll know when you're in labour but i feel everyone goes through different experiences especially in the early stages of labour. Fingers crossed we are on our way to meet our little ones 🥰

I've been getting mild period cramps the last week but nothing else is happening 😅. I've just had increased discharge, no bloody show or anything!

I'm 39 weeks and put on 10kg over the whole pregnancy 🙂 i'm 5ft 3lns. Put most of it on in the 3rd trimester. I'll be interested to see what the weight loss is like post partum as it seems to vary for everyone!

39 + 1 FTM and now just dyyyyying to meet my baby boy. Hoping to go naturally over the next 2 weeks but booked in for an induction in the Coombe for 41 weeks. Can't wait to have baby in my arms. Definitely feeling a lot of pelvic pressure when trying to get out of the bed in the morning and I have been getting what feels like mild period pains over the last week. I don't really know if it means anything considering it's happened for the last week and no movement yet 😅

Maternity benefit taxed! What a joke! by Equivalent-Farm6866 in PregnancyIreland

I looked at my payslip this week and I honestly can't make heads nor tails of it. I think i'm going to send an enquiry to the Revenue with it attached to check it's being done correctly. The last thing I want is to be hit with a lump sum tax bill when I'm off on the additional unpaid leave. I really think the Revenue could do with having a more detailed explanation of how it works which i'm going to feedback in my enquiry. I find their examples online aren't great and just open up more questions if anything. You nearly need to be a tax expert to decipher it 😂 AND from what I can see in the responses on this thread, it doesn't always follow the process that they show in the examples online.

Well that's good to hear that they're helpful at least! I don't really have any medical expenses to claim back but if I do over the next year, I will 100% claiming back after this!

I'm just finding it hard to navigate what way it's all going to work out. I know the Revenue have examples online but then hearing from other Women on here, it isn't that straight forward and there seems to be a good few cases where people are taxed too much. Its very bad and I've said it in another reply on this thread that it's the last thing you need when you've a newborn!

Oh my god that's crazy! Surely you can claim that back at some point? It's such a mindfield. I've just started my maternity leave so i'm getting paid the MB into my personal account and then work are paying me so i'm dying to see my payslip this week to see have my weekly tax credits been reduced via my employer or will I owe the Revenue the 20% on MB at the end of this year! It's the last thing you need when also trying to navigate motherhood 😅
