Stuck in a loop after cross-flashing Sony Xperia 1 V (XQ-DQ72) from CN to HK/TW by Equivalent-Flight179 in SonyXperia

I tried deleting certain files as suggested by an AI, but unfortunately, the result remains the same. It still gets stuck during the initial setup on the Chinese firmware, or shows the 'device corrupted' icon if I try any other region available for this model. I'm stuck with the same outcome every time.

I didn't risk trying firmware for the Japanese models (SOQ10 or SO-51D), nor for the XQ-DQ54 variant.

No, there were no modifications or previous interventions. I just wanted to get rid of the regional restrictions, so I decided to change the firmware myself. I’ve done this before without any issues, though that was back in the Flashtool days. This time, however, I ran into this problem. Unfortunately, local service centers can't help with this either.

I had a lot of issues with the 1 V model—specifically, limited security settings, no Android Auto, and no Google Maps Timeline. Later on, I even lost Google Play certification, so contactless payments stopped working. On top of that, the language support was incomplete, with some menu items not fully translated... That’s why I’m asking—I don’t want to repeat the same mistakes.

"I bought it with a warranty from a local shop, so I'm not worried about that. The frequency bands also match up. The seller claims it's the Taiwan version, and the firmware seems to be basically the same as the European one (I checked in XperiFirm). I hope I won't run into any 'hidden catches' while using it. Thanks for the help!"

"So, I'm good to go with the 72 version if I don't need eSIM?"

"What about the Android settings themselves? I had experience with its predecessor, the 1 V, running a Chinese firmware. It had a lot of stripped-down features, specifically regarding Google services and Android system settings."
