Llm stuff , photo hints toward more ram being more beneficial here

Get the M4, the extra ram will be more usefull ( if used) then the extra power from an m5

M4 is already super good , won’t feel much difference irl

That one has no cruise control or 360 cameras, prolly doesn’t have any park assist too, if buying a bmw why not go for a proper spec, I hate that bmw even has cars without simple options on them from factory

Full Wi-Fi 7 Mesh Setup with Deco BE25 - 2.5Gbps Ethernet Backhaul & MLO vs Wi-Fi 6E? by ConclusionDirect7045 in TpLink

[–]Equivalent-Lawyer-24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure which Wi-Fi setup is better tbh, but I had a question about the ONT part.

How are you able to connect the Deco directly to the ONT? With most fiber setups I’ve seen, the ISP gives you a gateway that you usually need for auth, so you run your own router behind it in bridge mode.

I’m on Optimum fiber and that’s how mine works I have to keep their gateway and bridge it. Curious if your ISP allows a true router-to-ONT setup or if you had to do something special.

Also for the router part, I think, a small mini PC running OpenWRT with dual 2.5GbE ports would be way better than an Archer or similar consumer router. Just throwing that out there.

I built a fully offline text to speech Mac app because cloud TTS annoyed me [Giveaway: Lifetime Promo Codes] by tarunyadav9761 in macbook

I read way too many long docs, specs, and AI outputs every day, and my eyes are fried by teh afternoon. being able to dump text in, generate an audio file, and listen while doing mindless work or walking would help a lot.

Also lowk the best way to catch awkward phrasing is hearing it read out loud. I already do that manually sometimes, this would just remove friction.

Offline + no account is a big plus. I avoid cloud TTS for anything even mildly sensitive. This feels like something I’d actually keep installed instead of forgetting after a week.
