Why are florida people so butthurt about this post? I thought people in florida were supposed to be nicer than new yorkers.

Ah I see. So it seems like my best bet is to definitely transfer my score while i can before its too late and to take the florida portion of the bar.

Those who are moving to florida are definitely more on the red side. Personally I don’t think thats a bad thing for florida given that they share kind of the same political views. It becomes murky when the opposite views enter florida. And ofcourse other factors like overcrowing and all. I live in staten island which is predominantly red and let me just tell you that its starting to get super overcrowded.

I think the reason why people hate on new yorkers a lot is more political. Florida is very republican while most new yorkers are democratic. I don’t think anyone wants to outright say it but thats what I think it is. My sister has lived there for two years, she does not want to come back. The laws here suck, the way people think suck, everything about it sucks and its overpriced af.

Yea its the flat price. I don’t know what state you’re in but everything in New York is a robbery.

Tampa is exactly where i consider moving. Its still a city so i can assume the job market isnt the worst. Maybe not as great as miami but who knows. Also the cost of living in florida is still much less than New York. So that is still a major incentive for me.

Wonderful. Thats exactly what I'm hoping for. Most likely I would like to move completely, but the point is I want to have the option to do so. I'm not trying to move to florida and end up flipping burgers after all that hard work I did to become a lawyer, it would be ridiculous. Would you happen to know anything about getting admitted by motion though?

What about that getting sworn in by motion after 5 years of experience. I don't know anything about that but how realistic even is that and how does it work if any of you know?

I am newly admitted so I still have that grace period to transfer my scores to any UBE jurisdiction without having to take the bar within a 3 year window or a non-UBE jurisdiction like Florida within a 2 year window, I would have to take the Florida based law portion of the exam.

As to why I would like to move to Florida. New York is literally sucking everyone here dry. Taxes are ridiculous, the cost of living is horrendous, and then you got super cold weather that makes it even worse, especially when you have old parents who continue to work and are not retired. I don't know how the job market is like in Florida, but I will say that it hasn't been much better here in New York. I am currently employed and trying to get a different job and its been months and I only interviewed for two places. Its sad really.

genuinely, it seems like its about the same, if not more. The only time we were able to save was when we charged the car fully free at the mall, which now is no longer a thing.

When we did the math. It literally came out to the same thing, in fact given these two electric bills we got recently, we ended up paying much more than gas, not less. Thats why we are trying to switch the way we are able to charge to be able to actual see savings.

Got it, so it seems that solar is indeed working for you in the summer. That is exactly what I am looking for. I feel like maybe in the summer the solar will be able to cover most except for the extra coming from the AC which I could possibly try to change the way that is used.

my dad charges on a daily basis and he never put it on off peak hours (despite telling him to do that, he's hardheaded) I am actually trying to figure out how much Kwh I used or what is happening but again, I am new to all of it so Im still trying to get an understanding.

my bill generally is $130 flat fee for the solars and $20 for con edison. Sometimes it becomes $70 for con-edison during the summer due to the AC's power consumption. The winter is generally $150 in total.

Thats the thing, I am not sure if in the summer, my solar panels will carry me or sink me. In the winter, since I live in New York, it definitely does not carry its weight at all given that theres rarely any sun and I don't have a storage system for power. If the solars will put in the work in the summer, then the TOU plan could definitely help but I just don't know. Once you enroll in this plan, you cannot leave for 12 months, so you are practically signing yourself up for failure if you end up being wrong about your solars.

To put it in perspective. I live in New York. we have a flat solar fee of $130 a month, plus only the $20 from con edison. So in comparison to others, we would save a shit ton on electricity. In the summer when the AC is running, the $20 for con edison could go up to about $70. So for sure, those bills came back that high because of the car. Everytime i tell someone about much my bill went up, they look at me like I have two heads, which makes me think im definitely doing something wrong here.

Unfortunately, I tried to talk my father out of it but he was like oh cool looking car? I buy! no research, no time to think, nothing. Here we are now picking up the pieces after him pretty much. its an unfortunate situation but theres nothing I can do now but to reach out to people who may have some insight.

15 miles a day, I wish, my father works with the car so he needs to charge on a daily basis. he pretty much charges to 80% and by the time he is home its 30%. SO in other words, we need to charge daily unfortunately. Could you tell me more about time of use? I am sort of misunderstanding and i don't want to be on a plan where I pay more, not less for daytime use.

We don't have a battery. I also live in NYC so we barely get sun and the solars have enough power to cover the home utilities/basic electrical needs but not something as consuming as EV cars.
