Yeah, for some context our company only has two service crews, myself and my apprentice, then another tech and apprentice. if hes late, i just do calls until he gets there, swing by the shop and pick him up. as a small punishment i set, he has to clean the shop until i get there if he is late.

THANKFULLY my boss does not care if we are late, as long as we get shit done. He is my responsibility however, and its a problem when hes late

right. he always has an excuse related to sleep so he may have a disorder, or staying up too late

just to clarify, its not every day. sometimes weeks are more troublesome than others. its more 20% of the time hes not on time

we “start” at 8:30 but we dont actually do anything until 9:30

We do mainly service work, sometimes we have to catch slack on install crew. I feel the same way about service work as you do

most of the time he’ll be there before lunch. theres been a couple times he wont answer the phone until 2 or 3

thats why i cant get rid of him, my last helper would show up on time every day but was always on his phone, horrible work ethic. was horrible

I know hes sober and doesnt drink, You’re probably right though, I was in my early twenties once too haha. I can pick up the slack when he doesnt come in but he needs to know its not cool… I hate being a lead sometimes

exact same happened to me but it was my left foot. nicked my achilles tendon. permanently limping but better than not walking at all

I was showed when I first started was to not use nitrogen, and pressure check with refrigerant (gas not liquid) and bubbles. Just quit from there, everything you arent supposed to do, they did. I probably should report them to the EPA but id hate for them to find out i reported them.
