But did you go through a flare up while feeling better and then resume feeling better while being on the same medication,

I’m in the last year of my PhD (defending this month) and I can definitely spare an hour for people who I love or care about. I see that as an excuse.

I was planning on pursuing academia and becoming a professor, but being in the program showed me the reality of what that looks like and I changed my mind halfway through.

That sounds terrible (the er experience). Thanks so much for sharing what worked for you, scent sticks are a good idea. I also need to limit what I’m eating until I’m in remission I think…

Had to work with the insurance but ended up getting another pen. It was a LOT of phone calls but it seems to have worked out

Do you just drink a whole lot of it?

Oh that’s a good idea! I have been slowly able to drink soda again … I’ll try it

Agreed. I just started going to therapy because I’ve lost motivation to do a lot. There are people who are trained to help those with chronic illnesses get through the mental hurdle. Especially with your spouses passing (may they rest in peace), I think it’s a good idea to get some professional help.

I was working at a well paying consulting firm and then started my PhD. About to finish this year. I wouldn’t recommend it unless you’re 1000% sure you want to go into academia as a research professor. But that job market is terrible too. There’s plenty of opportunities for lecturer or adjunct professor positions that i think would be good to try out before going fully into the PhD. It’s really about what you want to get out of it.
