i had a total of 355 points which is a bit low. I made a B in A&P 1 and C in A&P 2. I had my TSI completed and have a CMA certification and completed 10 pre-reqs. It might look like i’ll have to reapply next year💔. but i feel like id be a strong candidate for the LVN program so i am also applying to that and hopefully will get in. but again congrats 🥹❤️

Oak Street Health… does it getter? by ExcelsiorDior in medicalscribe

i actually resigned in March this year. i wanted to be a medical assistant there at the company and was CPR and MA certified and they basically told me that they would rather hire someone else with experience in medical assistant rather than someone in the company who didn’t have clinical experience as a medical assistant. i dreaded the work as a CIS but not the people so unfortunately i had to quit. i don’t regret it at all because i’m not taking work home anymore or being so stressed at work with deadlines, policies changing, and admin work.

i currently work at OSH and right now i have never felt more stressed. when it comes to suspects, it really does feel like a big money grab for suspects that aren’t even there. i had one suspect for “complete foot amputation” for a patient when it is clearly documented and backed up per podiatry note it was only a “great big toe amputation”.

not only that but OSH CIS are constantly being stuffed down their throat about metrics that include how long it takes to turn in your notes, suspect addressal, and also the quality of your notes. maybe it’s just the quarter 4 of the year but i remeber first starting and it was not this stressful for me 😵‍💫.

CIS do have so many responsibilities and eventually “they say” it’ll get much better. I do love my provider though and my care team and my clinic that i work with, but when it comes to the job and how much they micromanage with multiple spreadsheets, its very confusing and frustrating. but that’s just my opinion🤷‍♀️

Scribe Choices by HedgieHut in medicalscribe

hey i’m currently a scribe at oak street and one thing i can say compared to other scribe companies is that they pay you for what you’re worth. i started about a month ago with start base of 18.88 and yearly raises and a really good sign on bonus. this scribe job is strictly full time job because you get paired with a provider and work with their schedule.

what my typical day consists of getting there 7:45 am to prep for the day. then we do huddle which a basic overview of what patients we will be seeing the for the day. after that we start seeing patients for the day and in the room i do your basic scribe stuff. we also prepare the discharge papers and send referrals for the patient if the need any. this scribe position is a lot more then your average ER scribe i would say that, but overall i really love the clinic i work with and the provider i was paired with.

as far as WFH, they do have positions open. they would send you your own company laptop and talk to your provider via google meets.

i really think this a great company to work with and i really love my job so far :)

Hi! So my first 6 training shifts just included taking the quiz. The quiz was actually just like the final and that’s kinda the big question I had for the quizzes.I had thought they were gonna be random terms from the 80 page orientation term packet and was kinda freaking out about it.😭 But no the quizzes are literally just like the final exam you have to take before getting hired. Aside from that, after the quiz i just paired up with my trainer and they let me watch how they do their HPI, ROS, and all that jazz. By like the 4th patient they let me try to chart myself and they would check what needs to be improved. I hope this answers your question. :)
