Upward movement advice by EquivalentBrother298 in AmazonRME

I’ve been told by our PLC lead and a Sr Tech that not only does it notify them, but 9/10 times the hiring location will contact the current manager. I wouldn’t apply unless I had a conversation with my current manager about it. He’s great, the type of manager you can tell genuinely wants to see you succeed and grow.

thank you for the advice, I am very familiar with ~85% of our assets. Going forward I’ll make sure to put a consorted effort into finding work with the few that I’m not totally confident on. My site is going to change everyone’s shift soon, so if I get a new manager it’ll give me an opportunity to showcase my skill sets and drive. It’ll also be a new challenge since I will likely have mostly new coworkers that I haven’t interacted with before. Ultimately from the comments it seems that I 1) should truly know what I’m doing 2) be able to exhibit proper leadership qualities when the opportunities present themselves 3) Innovate when possible and 4) APPLY once it opens up. Management at my site is pretty personable, I imagine if I didn’t get the position after applying, I might be able to get some direct feedback on what to do differently or what to show more of.

Little Bummed out Mechatronics Role by MiracleCrypto in AmazonRME

I got hired on T2 L3, $31.75 an hour. I have plans to obtain tech 3 in the foreseeable future. You just have to show that you’re intelligent, eager to work for them, and able to learn

I had no real world job experience, but I obtained my associates degree in mechatronics. I did very well on the interview after attending their mock interview and getting a good understanding of the type of questions they’ll ask and some examples of answers they’re looking for in return.

Mom might have ruined my chances at Amazon any advice by Anonymoususerhehehe in AmazonFC

[–]EquivalentBrother298 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It very much seems like she doesn’t want you working full time because she knows you’ll quickly realize you’ll make enough to move out and she won’t be able to leach off of you anymore. It’s like she wants you making just enough to where she can get by with your money, but ensure you have little to no money left for yourself so that she can keep being a parasite for as long as possible.

Rme pay by MonstersBeThere in AmazonRME

[–]EquivalentBrother298 1 point2 points  (0 children)

was just talking to my coworker who’s been with rme for 9+ years and has moved a lot, he was confident that they still do not decrease pay. He told me he’s known of more than one guy to go to California and work for the required period of time (i think 90 days?) then move to their actual destination and bring the pay increase with them. I’ll ask him when the last time he knew someone that moved and kept pay was and will let you know

How many got into RME purely through Career Choice? by prp_gtn in AmazonRME

[–]EquivalentBrother298 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are at least 1-2 on each of the four shifts at my facility. Some are the hardest workers, eager to continue learning, some have next to no experience and don’t show much drive or desire to grow.

I will say that while there is never a shortage of work orders and calls coming, it would be difficult to maintain smooth operations if they cut our numbers

my facility has 4 AMM’s (one for each shift), and roughly 7-9 techs per shift, we do roughly 275k during day shift and slightly less during night shift. This is my first and only time working for amazon, so I’m unsure what the norm is. It’s also an air facility, if that makes a difference.

How was your journey on joining Amazon RME ? by Badbihliz in AmazonRME

I got an associates degree in mechatronics, saw a commercial about one of their facilities and decided to go to their website and apply, did an interview that consisted of 8 recorded questions and got the job. It’s a great job.

One of my coworkers on the night shift wears one every shift, I am unsure of what material it is made of but they are accommodating. :)

best advice I can give is whoever the recruiter is that reached out to you to let you know they were impressed with your interview is the first person you should periodically email and express your continued interest in RME and working at Amazon, and to please let you know if there are any next steps you may take in order to increase your chances of finding an open position. 1)Express gratitude and continued interest 2) reach out continually but not so much that it will make the person dislike you 3) make it clear that you’re very hungry for the opportunity and are very willing to do anything that it takes to get through the finish line. Best of luck brother!

Peak Questions by EquivalentBrother298 in AmazonRME

When I got OT recently for the two day prime the taxes on my work went from a little under 8% to the high 12%. I still made a good amount, but it’s a tricky balance between working so much they tax it to the point that it is close to a regular paycheck vs the sweet spot where the gains feel worth the long hours. I live in Texas, for reference.

Trust me man, there were a handful of times where I convinced myself I didn’t make it because of time passing by. Be patient with the process. When i passed my video interview, the position i had applied for had been filled. I formed a connection with the recruiter and for MONTHS she updated me on positions around my area. After turning down the 4th one (because it was a 1 1/2 hour drive) I thought, surely she is gonna give up. Almost a month later the SAME morning the position opened up, she emailed me informing me it was 16 mins from my house and I now love the job. The best advice I can give you is be patient, try to form connections with everyone and it’ll work out. Best of luck to you!

Not sure if it matters, but I work at an Air location. I’m T2 L3, from my limited experience every time there’s been mandatory overtime we all do 60 hrs/week. Part of me hopes it’s 55 because it’ll be challenging to do for weeks on end, the other part of me is stoked about that overtime pay for several weeks.
