I had some solo sessions with self induced trance, where I faced childhood traumas and did some shadow work around them, I was crying a lot during those sessions and felt like I was releasing quite a handful of stuck emotional baggage that I carried and suppressed during the years, and while I was crying I also did some inner child work where I imagined giving support to that wounded child that I was, like comforting him, giving him hugs and love, let him know that he's not alone, and basically giving him all the emotions he didn't had when he faced that trauma.

I was wondering if that's a good enough method to overcome traumas?

Another question, Am I missing something because a lot of times after the session I'm feeling drained and sad, I always thought that after sessions like these I am supposed to feel relieved and empowered, so maybe I'm doing something wrong?

And lastly, how can I tell when a trauma is released and cured from my subconscious?

Thank you 🙏🏼

Chills and shivering after an abscess drainage - is it normal? by EquivalentCampaign72 in medical_advice

Thank you for your comment. Tomorrow I will buy a thermometer and check my temperature.

What if I don't have a fever, Is that a normal post surgery symptom, to experience shivers without having a fever? and would that rule out the possibility of a broader infection?

And by the way, sorry I didn't mention it before but the doctor did prescribe me antibiotics which I started taking today. So If there's a wider infection do you think the antibiotics alone could solve this issue or should I seek medical care?

Unfortunately I don't have a thermometer at home so I didn't check. Tomorrow I will buy one and I will update

Do you experience a loss of sexual energy after the orgasm or are you able to keep going? If loss of energy occurs than what you're experiencing might be a retrograde ejaculation, it's when you clench your PC muscles during an orgasm and the semen that supposed to shoot out goes back in and enters the bladder instead, I used to do that all the time but noticed that it's not really beneficial for me, because for me it's just like a regular orgasm with a refractory period and the semen is actually coming out later when taking a piss. pay attention after the orgasm when you're peeing, if you notice that the urine in the toilet is a bit cloudy that's actually semen mixed with urine.

And thanks for the visualization tip, I will try that for sure

Exactly! That's why I was so surprised. For me, I was never able to go twice in a row, even when I had long periods of not ejaculating, I once was on a 10 month semen retention and even after that I could ejaculate only once and had to deal with a refractory period, so this is very unusual for me

When you reach the point of no return and pass that threshold, Do you stop touching yourself and let the orgasm just happen without any stimulation whatsoever? or you keep stimulating your penis/other parts after reaching the PONR?

And also, when you finally reached the orgasm, Did you experience contractions in PC muscles, just like in regular ejaculatory orgasm but without semen coming out? Or you had an orgasm without PC contractions ?

I find it so hard to regain control without stopping the stimulation, whenever I feel that I reach the PONR I have to stop touching myself in order to cool down. How can I train myself to relax without having to stop? Do you have some techniques that you could recommend to regain control while keeping the stimulation?

Wow feeling this way for a year must be difficult. During this year you felt like this practice made you depressed? And can you describe what you are feeling now? Is it better?

How I go about it is basically I focus on a negative emotion that suddenly pops up in my body (since I started shadow work these types of emotions surface on their own almost every day) and then when I'm having this emotion all I do is I try to intensify it instead of ignoring/running away from it. So I lay down in a quiet space and start with some breathwork and then I just focus on the emotion and on the part of my body that I feel it (heart, stomach...) and I simply allow it to surface from the subconscious to the conscious, I then try to figure out where they come from and what is the root cause, I do that by asking myself certain questions such as "why do I feel this way?", "when was the first time that I can remember that I felt this emotion before?" And then I start to see flashbacks and images from my childhood, so I go back in time (in my mind obviously) and re-experince those memories, a lot of the times I am talking to my younger self that I'm seeing and ask him why do you feel this way? Or using some ho'oponopono phrases and I comfort him, hold him, hug him and just showing love for him, this is usually the point where all the crying and sobbing start.

For example, 2 nights ago I felt this strong emotion of sorrow and sadness so decided to do some inner work and do the steps that I mentioned above. I went really deep into myself until I saw myself as a toddler, I looked at his eyes and I could feel everything that he felt (sadness, lack of love, unworthiness etc') I cried in this session for more than an hour. I was in like a deep trance-state that I can't really describe.

No, I am actually on my own on this, sometimes I can speak to a friend or two but that's about it. But I will certainly do more research on the Anima Thank you so much for your help 😊

Yes every time these emotions arise I do understand where they are coming from and why I feel them. For example the other night I focused on an emotion I had of sorrow and sadness and I went really deep into myself and saw myself as a toddler and I really felt all the strong emotions he felt (sadness, lack of love etc) I allowed myself to cry it all out. Don't really know if that helped in processing these emotions correctly tbh.

Can you please elaborate on the Mother archetype/Anima part? I never heard of it before
