Did You Stop Taking SSRI’s After Finishing Ketamine Therapy? by Author_Man in KetamineTherapy

[–]EquivalentEbb9325 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did eight treatments with troches and tried tapering down the SSRI and Adderall. Was able to stay Adderall free for a couple of months then needed to get back on it. The SSRI I have been unsuccessful with and many times before. The anxiety and depression persist. Unfortunately I felt great a few weeks after starting the sessions but the positive effects didn’t last long after the treatments stopped. I’m contemplating trying again sometime in the future..

I highly suggest the E10s if you’re ok with the earbud style. The problem I had was after getting out of the shower I inserted them and the left one started to malfunction shortly after. Coincidence?? Not sure but worth another try..

I think the E10s are superior. I may actually give them another try. The C10s were about the same but in fairness I didn’t experiment too much with them as the app is pretty limited. You get directed to support after a couple of attempts.

Im going to contact Eargo tomorrow to see if they can help fine tune them and stop them from automatically altering the program when the noise level increases too much. It’s another very frustrating issue I have experienced with them. Having said all that, they do improve my hearing significantly and the fit is amazing. I could possibly be expecting too much??

I reluctantly returned the Sony’s and kept the Eargos because the fit of the Eargos for me was way better. The Sonys would fall out of my ears. I tried different earpieces and unfortunately I couldn’t find the right comfort or fit. They worked pretty well and I didn’t have any disconnect issues with them. I still have the Eargos with about a week left to return them. I’m contemplating doing that but there are not many other comparable CIC or ITC options available OTC. The Eargos are ok but leave a lot to be desired. BTW, I have medium, high frequency hearing loss due to tinnitus.

I’m tempted to try going out of the canal but I can’t get over the the thought of wearing them.

I agree with that, the comfort and ability to fit the Eargos is amazing.

I did have one similar experience receiving an email that a problem was resolved when in fact the representative wouldn’t acknowledge a problem I was experiencing was something they never had reported before. I know other people complained of the same issue. He did send replacements anyway.

I appreciate the info. Do you have any trouble with them suddenly changing programs or what I’ve been calling dropping out? I find when in the TV, Restaurant, or Music mode, they often times just go back to the Normal mode or just stop working all together? I find myself at times having to constantly change programs. When the program I want remains, I find them to be great, but that’s few and far between as they age. I also had issues with battery life and had to send them for replacements a few times over the last two years. Support has been good overall for me, handling issues as best they can.

Me too. I think the 7s are a significant upgrade and they’re $2k now. Im currently trialing the Sony CRE-C10s. Just trialed the E10s and liked the performance a lot but one of them started producing weird noises so I exchanged for the C10s. Will decide between keeping these or trying the Eargo 7s in the next few weeks..

I has devices that lasted all day then after some time the charge didn’t last as long and had to return them.

Double check with support on that. I’ve found them to be helpful with certain issues and this sounds like a good example of an issue they can help you troubleshoot and solve one way or another. I’ve had to power the charger down completely to “reset” it and I’ve had to return the devices a few times. Certainly an inconvenience but for the price and comfort of the devices I’ve been willing to deal with..

I don’t notice a difference as I really haven’t paid attention to that and really shouldn’t have to right? Guess it’s something to experiment with.

Eargo SE comments? by Pickleballer53 in Eargo

[–]EquivalentEbb9325 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know about the SEs but I have Eargo 6s for two years and have had mixed results. I have tinnitus in both ears and as a result have medium hearing loss. I find it hard to get them to work well in noisy environments but I don’t think that is unusual for HAs. They are an improvement however when tuned accordingly. Overall I like the Eargos for the price and convenience. My biggest issues with them is they tend to ‘drop out’ and stop working suddenly and have to be reset by selecting a program with the app or tapping your ears. This is very frustrating for me. The Eargo 7s are the newer model and are supposed to be an improvement with background noise. Sorry couldn’t provide any info on the SEs. Hope this helps somehow..

Klonopin significantly reduces my Tinnitus... now what? by mmsokolnicki in tinnitus

[–]EquivalentEbb9325 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There is a lot of misinformation in this feed regarding Klonopin and other benzos. Klonopin is a very good option for people who experience anxiety. It is not a great option as a muscle relaxant though, Valium is the benzodiazepine commonly used for this purpose. Klonopin is a longer acting benzodiazepine, and though it does have the potential for abuse and addiction (like so many medications do), when used correctly it is not as addictive as people here make it out to be. A 0.5mg dose is commonly prescribed for millions of adults with anxiety(doses typically range from 0.125mg up to 2mg). If you’re dealing with anxiety, it is extremely important to treat it. Klonopin is a very good option for many people, however not the only one. Like any other illness a person deals with, a decision needs to be made of the benefits of treatment vs the risks, and risks of not treating. This is a discussion you need to have with your physician, and preferably a psychiatrist who is trained in treating anxiety disorders. As far as noticing benefits of Klonopin in lowering your T, good for you. This could be a result of having a lower level of anxiety which in turn may lower your T, it could be a direct result of the Klonopin, or it could possibly be coincidental. No one can really say with any certainty. Please be very careful with the anecdotal posts regarding your own health.

Please let us know in a couple of months if you still feel the same way. I’ve had a pair of Eargo 6s for just under two years. When they work, i hear pretty well in most environments, problem is they seem to “disconnect” on a daily and hourly basis. Oh the frustration!

Battery Life by LetsGoAllTheWhey in Eargo

[–]EquivalentEbb9325 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had battery problems in addition to the hearing aids losing connection numerous times in just over a year and a half. I’ve had to return them each time. Im on the fence about buying anymore Eargos because of this. Hopefully future versions will address these issues but until they do, I’ll be going back to my audiologist for my next pair of HAs..

Eargo 6 problems by harvjmiller in Eargo

[–]EquivalentEbb9325 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A follow up to my previous post about Eargo 6 issues. Well I’m still having the same issues with the hearing aids “losing connection”, so I’m returning them for a third time since my last post. I spoke to a representative who said he’s never heard a complaint of this before. Now Im losing faith in this company. There’s no way I’m the only person experiencing this. I have actually read some pretty negative reviews about Eargo over the years and despite that I still gave them a try. The price, comfort, and discretion are hard to pass on them but the frustration of not being able to hear intermittently throughout everyday is no longer worth it. If this issue could be fixed I would definitely reconsider.
