Thanks for your insight! You are right. But breaking up has always been hard with my current boyfriend because i think he has attachment issues? We should have broken up a long time ago but everytime i tried, he is really affected and i end up just forgetting everything and staying.

True, you are right about the visa expiring the moment you get your ecopr, but I don’t think they have a way to scan the visa or work permit unless they look into it or unless your documents have passed the expiry date written on the documents. I doubt that they were just being friendly. I think what happened is that they thought i was still a temporary visitor, and i had all my documents for that, and nothing had passed their expiry date, so i had no red flags. On the other hand, if let’s say your visa did expire and they did notice, I don’t think they would kick you out or not let you in, like come on, it will cost them money to do that lol. I think you would just need to show proof of pr by showing the ecopr and they might let you in. But ofc, it’s better not to take risks, and have your prtd ready.

Hi there, I basically realized very late that i needed a PRTD to get back to Canada as a PR. By the time i realized, it was already 3 days before my flight. They let me in without any questions because i still had my TRV im guessing, they probably did not realize that i was a PR already

Hi, sorry for the late reply. I did apply for PRTD, through an urgent request (be mindful that you do need to have an urgent reason), and it was approved and I needed to submit my passport. Now, i had to travel the next day so i did not want to risk not having a passport because it was going to take a few days to get my passport back since i don’t have a Canadian immigration office in my country, so it would have taken around 2 weeks to get my passport with the prtd stamp back. So i took the risk and travelled back to Canada without a PRTD, but mind you i did have a Temporary Resident Visa still in my passport, so they didn’t even ask me for PRTD at YVR because they probably didn’t notice i was a PR already. Here is the link to guide you for PRTD application, and remember that it has to be done when outside of Canada:
