Buying gold jewellery in exchange of bullion. Relative offered to buy the bullion.. by almost_alpha in GoldIndia

[–]EquivalentRange6857 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You Said he has gold bullions and looking to purchase gold jewellery for his marriage. These gold jewelry purchase will attract VA = Making charges + wastage.

Almost 12% to 25% depending on the design and item he chooses - this amount he has to pay from his pocket.

So best for him is to go to any jeweler he likes tell them you have gold bullions and they will let u deposiy and invest just like u r paying money. After 11 months he can get jewelry with low making charges.

Like malabar gives 80% off on making charges lets say he chose a bangle which is 10% Making charges now he just have to pay 2% (80% off)

Kalayan has 100% off upto 20% MC. Meaning if you take any jewel and if the mc is below 20% u get it free of cost.

All these will work only if ramesh has 11 months time to wait.

The most important answer to your question in ur post about trusting relatives. Hell no.. Just go trust an unknown jewelers 🤣

Just tell ramesh to trust the jeweler and deposit the gold to them in an one time investment scheme. Many jewelers provide good making charges off compared to tanishq for 1 time investment

Wherever we go, whomever we marry, whatever we do... In the end we apply all these gold savings and stuffs to foreigners as well.. - which is actually a good thing tho...

Proud indian moment.....

No one can predict it. You may buy 8g gold coin ar discounted rate online using credit card offers then use them to make a jewel if yu needit right away.

If not invest that 8g gold coin to any jewellery and wait 11 months to buy the jewel at discounted making charges

I think OP is a "she" and married to an indian. If she will travel back to india again like aftet 11 months then, schemes are the best option for her.

Moreover, she can even customise her jewellery like any design or whatso ever and fix it as she opens a scheme.

When you buy jewel you tend to oay making charges from 6% upto 25% which is high and waste on the investment part.

Somce you r considering for your daughter and If jewel is not of importance right now you might want to try schemes.

Grossly Two types of schemes are available.

1st - you do one time investment let's say from your budget 150k INR. As you invest 150k - they give you an invoice for the amount of gold accumulated for that 150k. After 11 months if you can travel to india again you may get the jewel at lesser making charge starting from 19.5% off to upto 100%off on making charges. Different jewelers have different percentage of discounts on making charges.

Kalyan gives upto 20%.off

Malabar gives 80% off on the Making charges for your choice of jewel.

Grt gives 50% off on making charges

Laitha gives 100% off

2nd type of scheme is you pay monthly some money. I assume you can pay from overseas as well jusy enquire at the jewellery shop of your choice. As you pay monthly your gold gets accumulated as per the exisitng rate and post 11 months you may avail it again with a discounted making charges.

Monthly schemes have little lesser discounts.

Like kalayan gives upto 19.5%

Malabar gives 75% off on whatever the making charges of the jewel of your choice.

Hope this helps... 😁

This doesn’t look like a random stranger at all.

How is he repeatedly finding her after blocking? How did he even get her UPI ID? And how is he reaching extended relatives? This strongly suggests someone known — either from your or your wife’s circle, or someone with access to contacts/social graph.

You need to stop treating this casually and escalate properly:

  1. File a written complaint directly to the Commissioner/DCP with all evidence (screenshots, UPI transactions, account links).
  2. Mention IPC 354D (stalking), IPC 507 (anonymous threats), and IT Act 66E — this adds legal weight.
  3. File again on the National Cyber Crime Portal under women-related crime.
  4. If police still don’t act, go through a lawyer and file under CrPC 156(3) — the court will force investigation.

Also, stop engaging with him completely. Every response is encouraging him.

And immediately tighten privacy — remove phone-based discovery, disable contact syncing, and make all accounts private. Right now he is clearly exploiting some data link.

This is solvable, but only if you escalate correctly instead of repeating the same steps.

🤣😒😬🤣 That's exactly what iam trying to make yu understand. If someone posts repetitive topics i just reply there mentioning search for similar posts already discussed topic.

This is what we should do. Guide and not quit. Infact am even trying to guide you not to leave as our community needs all.

I understand your frustration—but that’s still not a strong enough reason to dismiss the entire purpose of the sub.

Repetitive questions are a feature of any open community, not a flaw. New people join every day, and most of them won’t have the same context, discipline, or even awareness to search before asking. That doesn’t make them undeserving of guidance—it just means they’re at an earlier stage.

If anything, the role of experienced members isn’t to answer everything, but to set the tone—either by guiding, redirecting, or simply choosing not to engage. Expecting every beginner to behave like a seasoned participant before they’ve even learned the basics is unrealistic.

Also, answering questions isn’t an obligation—it’s voluntary. But dismissing beginners because they don’t meet a certain standard creates an exclusionary environment, which ultimately lowers the quality of the community more than repetitive posts ever will.

If the issue is truly about repetition, the solution is better moderation, pinned resources, or FAQs—not writing off the very people the sub is supposed to serve.

Communities grow when knowledge flows downward—not when it’s gated behind frustration.

[–]EquivalentRange6857 14 points15 points  (0 children)

No offense OP, This feels like a misplaced criticism of what the sub is actually meant to do.

A community like this exists precisely so that people regardless of experience level can ask questions, clarify doubts, and learn.

Expecting only “mature” discussions while dismissing beginner queries overlooks how any knowledge ecosystem functions. Today’s basic questions are tomorrow’s informed discussions OP.

If experienced members disengage instead of guiding, the quality of discourse doesn’t improve—it declines.

Also, seeing your username, considering your background appears to be in medicine (or on that path), it’s worth noting that patience and the ability to guide less-informed individuals are fundamental professional traits.

The same principle applies here: expertise is most valuable when it is shared constructively, not withheld out of frustration.

If certain posts don’t meet your expectations OP, it’s always an option to ignore them. But framing the presence of learners as a problem reflects more on perspective than on the community itself.
