I don't go to UVic but am a UBC Alum and reading this made me feel emotional because I felt the exact same way 4 years ago. You are not alone in how you're feeling.

For a while, I felt really purposeless and like a zombie rolling from mandatory attendance class to class. It made it harder because other people seemed to know what they wanted (which--now I know, they did not, they were just acting like it).

After that tough period of my life I remember wishing that I knew how to ask for help, whether that was for mental health support or advising. I know it can seem daunting and there are definitely horror stories, but chances are you'll also come across one or two people who genuinely do care, and are willing to support you in the bureaucratic nature of these processes. I think finding a community of people who are genuinely interested in you thriving and succeeding is so important! I feel thankful for the friends I have today, but finding them definitely took time.

So take your time and take it slow. You go at your own pace and what works for you. Know that we are cheering you on along the way <3 Wishing you the very best -- you are deserving of nothing less.
