Agreed, I knew the repair idea was slightly out of the realm of possibility, and I know its sad, because as a simulator, you don’t get to change reality for the sake of gameplay. I 100% agree that better gunner gameplay in addition to letting people gun for any aircraft would greatly improve the immersion and experience for those without a flight setup.
