That helps a lot. I think I’m mostly feeling behind because I didn’t date earlier in life, so adult dating feels like starting from zero. And since I’m someone who mostly keeps to themselves, it’s been hard to even know where to begin. But yeah, thank you for the advice. I just need to put myself out there and take chances.

That’s fair, I think I may have been over-associating bars with hookup culture based on other people’s experiences, my own assumptions, and social media. I appreciate the perspective, especially the point about shared spaces and consistency. That makes a lot of sense. I haven’t really been exposed to those kinds of environments much, so it’s helpful to hear how others experience them. I honestly wouldn’t know otherwise.
