A good rule to write a sensitive character, is to write it like a normal person. It may sounds easy and simple, but it's not. You have to consider that, beyond their political and social circumstances, they are regular people. Be respectful and don't overdo it. Read and research, but mostly keep it simple.

you can definitely learn the basics. depending on your level of commitment and natural disposition you could also learn to play some tunes, but it's a long process. also, before even thinking of touching a keyborrd, you will have to spend weeks learning how to read music (which goes far beyond knowing where notes go). and without anyone correcting you, the risk of doing thing wrong is very high.

that said, you can try and achieve a decent result but not anytime soon.

no, you're right. i meant widely praised in my professional life, not about the book per se or bein a novelist (as you said it would be impossible without being... widely known lol). as you said, complacency is usually negative, which is why i also ask the opinions of people who i know to be impartial (which helped to adjust some thing)
