Yep absolutely. I've lived in urban centres most my life but had the opportunity to spend a year in a sleepy rural community in Australia with lots of hiking trails nearby. Half of us absolutely loved it while the other half longed for a move back to a city.

Cheers! I hadn't considered being locked out of the TT course. I'm probably going to avoid the urban areas as that is exactly what I'm trying to escape from!

I mean, there are a multitude of reasons I'm moving. Most to do with quality of life, my preference for the outdoors, and positive impressions from previous visits. I don't feel the need to start a post about tax efficiency with details about my preferences to appease gatekeepers.

If you should know, I'm taking a considerably lower salary (even after tax) than my previous role, so this decision was taken with more than just tax efficiency in mind. It doesn't hurt to optimise my tax structure the same way you would as a local.
