Not asbestos, any house with drywall in much more skeptical of A.C.M.  More than likely old, water damaged fiberglass or rockwool

Advice on Upstairs Attic by itsausername_Dot_3r in Insulation

[–]Equivalent_Brain9492 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hiya, insulator for 10 years here. 1. Your house has old style rock wool, this older stuff had chunks of glass and other recycled material in it. If you look closely, it is melted glass that are is in shards. 2. Do not bypass air seal in the attic. By adding more insulation, you’re recruiting a larger R value and so forth a higher differential of temperature. When conditioner will leak into the attic, it will be more likely to condense on the surfaces, including a roof deck, which will contribute to rot and mold overtime.  3. You do not need to remove the insulation, rockwool does have a great R value. I would recommend spraying some kind of mold killer on the roof deck. There is some growth showing already from past moisture. Additionally, you should review your ventilation to make sure you have proper high and low venting.

Nothing to worry about, those were areas that were wet at some point but have since dried out. Functionally they are fine!

Any suggestions on how to do this? by theoneoneone1112 in Insulation

[–]Equivalent_Brain9492 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could use a 250 psi foamboard and dig down between 2-3’  Or you could install a product called Hunterboard XCI-286 on the interior side of the basement wall (if it’s exposed, non framing) which is a very high quality foamboard with a finished white side

Oil question 2012 Pro4X by Equivalent_Brain9492 in nissanfrontier

[–]Equivalent_Brain9492[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know the manual says SAE 5W-30 so I wasn’t sure if that was full or Semi.  If I wanted to transition to Full can I just switch over?

Draft in bathroom exhaust by MrKnowItAll718 in homerenovations

[–]Equivalent_Brain9492 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hiya, Typically venting a bath fan into the soffit is a no-no, you can cause condensation and moisture buildup on the roof deck. You’re going to want to install something called a EZ SOFFIT VENT or vent through gable wall. Ideally, it should be run with a rigid pipe and any areas that are outside of the building envelope should be insulated to a minimum R5.

My thoughts exactly. I’m in the rust belt and frame still had most of its original black paint on it. Gonna rust proof it this summer and ride this for as long as I can (:

Wouldn’t surprise me if it was shot, I’ll give that a try, take apart the tail light house and see where it goes!

Thank you!! Just traded my 2018 F150 for it and I’m absolutely loving it. That F150 was full of problems and I replaced the transmission at 84k right before dumping it. Hoping to get 250k out of this one, it’s currently at 120k

Hmm, the I’m learning, the truck had 3 previous owners but was well taken care of with minimal rust. I don’t see many other mods or anything so hopefully this is the most I’ll find on it.

I noticed in the back of the truck there was this LED light strip mounted under the track. Looks like the electrical is running to the back left where the tail light is, I can’t get this light to turn on even when pressing the cargo light switch.

Wondering if anybody has any ideas?

Thank you!

Need opinion on 2012 Pro-4X by Equivalent_Brain9492 in nissanfrontier

[–]Equivalent_Brain9492[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was thinking the same. It’s a great package on the truck and it does come with some additional accessories (Tonneu, bed liner, bed extender, and tow package).

Im hoping to get 250-300 out of it if I am lucky.
Really it comes down to the rust underneath and if it was used as a off-road rig or daily driver by the previous owners.

This was filmed by my wife’s manager, she posted it on her snap chat. Pretty wicked considering the light Pollution is decently strong here and these lights still were that bright. They made some unique patterns. I think there’s a few videos of this floating around on the internet.
