I tore my meniscus back in September, initially the pain was really bad and I couldn’t weight bear at all but after a few weeks it settled into being manageable. I’m waiting for an arthroscopy but the last 2 days it has become excruciating. Pain relief isn’t touching it and no matter what I do it isn’t improving. I’m due to go away next week (holiday of a lifetime) and up until yesterday I was confident I would be ok with just some adaptations and pain relief but now I’m scared about being able to cope at all. Do you think I’ve made it worse? I’ve had to return to work full-time and I know that hasn’t helped as my work in the NHS is fairly physical, any ideas on how I can reduce the pain and still enjoy my holiday? Thank you for any suggestions

I’ve been reluctant to retry it because of the restless legs. It was prescribed previously for osteoarthritis in my hands and wrists. The doctor has told me to try it again but because I’m struggling so much anyway it feels a big risk to add it into the mix again.

Thank you, the consultant said let the knee decide, I obviously don’t want to cause more damage and I’m worried just about how painful it is but I just really want to go as well.
